What does the Bible say about Being a Disciple of Jesus?

徒, a Chinese character, is combined with  彳 (walking) and 走 (running) and means disciples who walk and run together. Disciples are the people who follow the ‘Life of Jesus.’

Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
Luke 14:27

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
John 8:31-32 (NKJV)

Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
1 John 2:3-6 (NKJV)

If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12:26 (NKJV)

Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.
Luke 9:23 (NKJV)

And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:27 (NKJV)

A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.
Luke 6:40 (NKJV)

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:26 (NKJV)

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
Matthew 4:19 (NKJV)

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20  (NKJV)

For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps:
1 Peter 2:21 (NKJV)
