Prayer for protection through the Bible — The Bible holds all the weapons a Christian would need to fight against the enemy. Prayer is the key; faith in Christ Jesus is the foundation of your redemption and victory over your adversary.

One of the greatest weapons Jesus Christ gave us is prayer. He taught his disciples how to pray and encouraged them to be prayerful at all times. Even he — being God in flesh prayed on several occasions. Prayers for protection help you fight against your enemies both in the spiritual and physical realm. The Bible says pray without ceasing(1 Thessalonians 5:17).

In this post, I have made a collection of 10 prayers for protection to help my fellow Christians break the strongholds of the Devil against their safety and all the good things they hold dear.

You need God to protect you from accidents, shame, death, bad luck, fear, diseases and sicknesses, enemies, and all the demonic attacks from Satan and his agents. I always ask God to help me through prayers.

It wasn’t a long time ago that I talked about selected prayers that destroy our enemies both in the physical and spiritual world. Today is more or less like an extension of that post.

We are all vulnerable to misfortunes and the Devil’s plans to plunge us into intense pains and sufferings of all kinds. In fact, Satan will keep on frustrating us. But with prayers, we can overcome any temptation or pain.

May these prayers for protection inspire you to seek refuge under the mighty wings of the Most High God.

My dear, pray to protect your family, job, marriage, health, loved ones, and anything you care so much about. Because the Devil always prowls in to destroy the best part of your life. Now get ready to take yourself through these prayers for protection against your enemies. You may memorize some and make them part of your daily conversation with the Lord.

A Christian’s Collection Of Prayers For Protection

1. Prayer For Protection From Danger In The Night

During the night, the Devil and his agents arise to operate against the Children of God. So I often say if you would even forget to pray in the morning; then not for the night. Don’t make such a mistake.

Before you go to bed, say this prayer below and allow God to protect you. The rulers of darkness find their strengths in darkness, so you would need God’s light to shine over you while you sleep. Darkness can not comprehend the light of God.

“My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my refuge, my savior; you save me from violence. I call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies” (2 Samuel 22:3-4).

Oh, I nearly forgot to tell you this; I once had a disturbing dream in the night. I forcefully woke up and found myself breathing heavily and feeling sweaty(It wasn’t the first time). The time was 1 am. Huh? I told myself “something demonic is happening against me in the spiritual world.” I felt it!.

So I had to pray again for protection throughout the night. In the dream, I found myself in a ‘local public toilet.’ The floor was slippery and a strong force was pulling my feet into the toilet hole(sewage). I resisted that force… And as the struggle persisted I forcefully woke up out of bed.

About a year later, I understood the dream; some witches and wizards were trying to summon my soul. Like I initially told myself that something demonic was happening against me that night.

After praying once again for the Lord’s protection, I was able to have a sound sleep. I tell you the truth, prayers do work a lot for us. These sorcerers have no power over me and I ain’t ignorant about their crafty devices. No weapon forged against the children of God shall succeed in Jesus name as said in Isaiah 54:17.

NB: If you ever have this kind of dream, or dream of walking through feces, this is the meaning; Some idiots are chanting for your soul. If your spirit is too light and you don’t have God’s protection, then you are doomed!.

Now, say this prayer for protection when you are about to sleep:

Thank You Father for the many precious promises we have from You. Thank You that you have promised to be with us and to keep us no matter where we are or how far we roam. Lord, You know that it is necessary for me to have to go out into this dark night and I pray for Your protection and grace – and ask that You would keep me from all perils and dangers of this night, for the love of Your only Son my Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thank You that there is nowhere that I can go that is beyond the perimeter of Your protection and as You promised in Your Word wherever I go where Your hand will guide me and whatever I do your right hand will hold me fast. Thank You that no matter how dark the night may be, the light of Your love is ever present with me, for You are the Light that brightens up the darkest places and will shine the brightness of Your presence before my face, to lighten up the night around me – praise Your holy name, in Jesus name I pray,

2. Prayer For Protection Against Evil

Heavenly Father You have promised that when we dwell in the secret place of the Most High and shelter under the shadow of Your wings you will guard and guide us, protect us and keep us – for You are our refuge and our fortress and You alone are the one in Whom we place our trust.

Thank You Lord that no matter where I go Your hand leads me, and Your right arm upholds me.. for You are before me and behind me, You are above me and below me, You are at my right hand and also at my left. And You are within me.. indwelling in my heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit, Who is my ever-present Help in time of trouble.

Father, I pray that You would protect me and my family from all the evils that are lurking nearby and from those that would seek to harm us. Uphold us and keep us safe from all the evils that encircle our lives. Put Your hedge of protection and safety around us we pray, and place a guard at our doors and protects us from all that pass by our gate. And Father, keep our hearts from fear but rather fill us to overflowing with Your perfect peace that passes all understanding. Thank You that You are indeed our refuge and strength. You are that ever-present Help in time of trouble – therefore in Your strength we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the middle of the sea. – for You are with us wherever we go. 3. Oh Heavenly Father, I come to You today, bowing my head and opening my heart, asking for protection from all the evil this world holds. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television, the internet, books, and newspapers that leave us vulnerable to sin of every kind, every single day. Surround us with your divine hedge of unbreakable protection. Encompass us round about with your strength and your glorious might. Let all who take refuge in You be happy and feel safe. Please shelter us, Heavenly Father, that those who love your name may exalt in You. For it is You who blesses the righteous man and those who give their lives to You.

PRAYER FOR PROTECTION WHILE TRAVELING

6. I ask that God’s Angels guard and keep you. As you travel, may you remain safe and secure, with His presence known to you at all times. May He watch over you as you leave home, wandering and maneuvering in other parts of God’s great earth. You are not alone. For He is always with you. Amen.

Protect Me From Harm

7. Dear Lord,

You know my enemies are trying to kill me – in body, mind, and spirit. I pray for your Divine Protection over me, my home, and my family today. Just like in the Old Testament when your people put the blood of the Lamb over their doorposts. You promised that the Destroyer would pass over them. I apply the blood of Jesus over the doorpost of my heart, my family, and my home for protection.

Send your fighting Angels Lord to me. Lord, you said You would fight for me and I need only be still. Let your Angels surround me like a ring of fire and let no harm come to me or my ‘tent’. Hide me and my family under the shadow of your wings like You promised in Psalm 91. Let me rest as I watch the Salvation of the Lord come to me and my family. Prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Today is the day of salvation, today is the day I need you Lord.

Send me a Deliverer or Kinsman Redeemer if that is what You think I need. Put people in my path who will help lead me out of darkness and into the light of Your presence. Lord, You said you would open doors that no man could shut. Open the doors for my escape. Do not let me be put to shame. Restore unto me the joy of Your Salvation and uphold me with your righteous right hand. Show me the way Lord – Show me the light of day, and though 1000 fall on one side and 10,000 on another side – You promised I would not be harmed. I declare and decree Your Divine Protection over me, my family, and my home, in Jesus’s Name.

8. You Alone Are My Safe Place

(Adapted from Psalm 91)

Lord, Most High,
You are my shelter
And I rest in your shadow.

You alone are my safe place.

I trust in you, my God.

You will rescue me
From every trap
And protect me from disease.

You will cover me with feathers

Prayer for Protection At Work

10. Dear Lord, thank You that You are with me throughout each and every day and night, and thank You that you never leave me nor forsake me. Lord, You know my work situation, that there are hidden dangers and various health and safety issues, that require me to be very vigilant, and I ask that You would keep and protect me (and all those with whom I work), from any and all unforeseen dangers accident or emergencies.

Thank You Lord that You have promised to be my protection and shield. Thank You that You are before me and behind me, to inspire and to guide. Thank You that You are my God and I am Your child and may the light of Your face shine on me and enfold me today in all the duties I am required to do.
