Φορκυς αυ Φρυγας ηγε, και Ασκανιος θεοειδης,<-144 Τηλ ' εξ Ασκανιης.

"Ascanius, godlike youth, and Phorcys led

The Phrygians from Ascania's distant land."

Calmet thinks that the Ascantes, who dwelt in the vicinity of the Tanais, are meant.
