These three words define and contain the "Gospel" as being good news as to a Person; and as being Christianity as distinct from Religion, which consists of Articles, Creeds, Doctrines, and Confessions; i.e. all that is outward. Compare Philippians 1:3 , Philippians 1:4-7 , Philippians 1:9 , Philippians 1:10 , Philippians 1:20 , Philippians 1:21 . Note that in the Greek the words, "in the city of David", come last.
