themselves . Making the love-feast an occasion of gratifying the appetite, instead of promoting spiritual edification. Compare Ezekiel 34:2 .
whose fruit withereth = in autumnal decay. Greek. phthinoporinos. Onlyhere.
without fruit . Greek. akarpos. Elsewhere translated "unfruitful".
