Nehemiah 13:23

Neh 13:23 In those days also saw I Jews [that] had married wives of Ashdod, of Ammon, [and] of Moab:

Ver. 23. In those days saw I Jews ] Outwardly, at least (as the apostle distinguishes, Rom 2:28 ), and that also was then a prerogative, Romans 3:1 , and shall appear to be so again, when their long looked for conversion day is come, Romans 11:26 .

That had married wives of Ashdod ] Outlandish wives, and of another religion; and with these they cohabited, as the Hebrew word here importeth.
