Verse 53
Jer 51:53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, [yet] from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.
Ver. 53. Though Babylon should mount up to heaven. ] As her walls are said to have been of an incredible height (see on Jer 51:44 ), and her tower to have been little less than four miles high, threatening heaven, as it were.
