Luke 17:13

13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

Ver. 13. And they lifted up their voices ] These sought themselves only in their prayers, as do hypocrites; and nought esteemed the love of Christ. So did those that fasted to themselves, Zechariah 7:6 ; more to get off their chains than their sins. Ephraim "is an empty vine, he beareth fruit to himself," Hosea 10:1 . The Church keeps her fruit for her Beloved.
