5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

The book of life ] Wherein the just that live by faith are written.
But I will confess his name ] His well-tried faith shall be found to praise, honour, and glory, at the appearing of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 1:7 . See Trapp on " 1Pe 1:7 "
