Introduction

A.M. 4068. A.D. 64.

In this chapter, to excite the gratitude of the Ephesian believers, the apostle,

(1,) Leads their minds back to that state of moral and spiritual death in which the gospel found them, and reminds them how entirely they were saved by divine grace, Ephesians 2:1-10 .

(2,) He represents the happy state into which they were now brought, as being reconciled to God, united to his church, and made partakers of all his privileges, equally with the believing Jews, Ephesians 2:11-22 .
