Jesus prays

1. For Himself—that He may be glorified, and thus glorify the Father (John 17:1-5);

2. For the disciples—that they may be kept from the evil that is in the world and united with the Father in Him (John 17:6-19);

3. For the universal Church. The unity of all believers (John 17:20-21), in their unity with the Godhead (John 17:22-24), through their knowledge of the Father (John 17:25-26).
