And Hezekiah slept with his fathers. The writer of Chronicles adds, "And they buried him in the chiefest," or rather, in the topmost, "of the sepulchers of the sons of David" ( 2 Chronicles 32:33 ). The catacomb of David being now full, Hezekiah and his descendants ( 2 Kings 21:18 , 2 Kings 21:26 ; 2 Kings 23:30 ) had to he buried elsewhere. The tomb of Hezekiah was either over the catacomb of David, or on the ascent which led to it. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead. (See 2 Chronicles, 50. s . c ; and Josephus, 'Ant.
