Jehozadak . He did not share the violent end of his father, nor did he attain his father's high priest office, but lived to the end a captive (see note on 1 Chronicles 6:4 ). Where this name occurs in Haggai and Zechariah, it is the same in the Hebrew as here, though Englished in the Authorized Version as Josedech. Where it occurs in Ezra and Nehemiah, the shorter form of Jozadak is found in the Hebrew as in the Authorized Version.
