Mark 3:10 - Exposition

As many as had plagues —the Greek word is μάστιγας ; literally, scourges , painful disorders— pressed upon him ( ὥστε ἐπιπίπτειν αὐτῷ ); literally, fell upon him , clung to him , hoping that the very contact with him might heal them. This expression, "scourges," reminds us that diseases are a punishment on account of our sins.
