That they be no gods , etc. This is an incidental proof that St. Paul's success at Ephesus lay chiefly among the heathen, since we know from Acts 14:15-17 ; Acts 17:23 , Acts 17:24 , etc., that this was exactly his style of preaching to Gentiles, quite different from his method with Jews.
