Jeremiah 13:12. Every bottle shall be filled with wine— The 13th and 14th verses fully explain this. We have before had occasion to observe, that it is frequent in the language of Scripture to express God's judgments under the figures of wine, a cup, drunkenness, &c. Accordingly God here declares, that as they have all sinned, so every one shall have his share in the punishment. See Isaiah 29:9; Isaiah 51:21.Jeremiah 25:27; Jeremiah 25:27; Jeremiah 51:7. Thomas Coke (9 September 1747 - 2 May 1814) was the first Methodist Bishop and is known as the Father of Methodist Missions.Born in Brecon, south Wales, his father was a well-to-do apothecary. Coke, who was only 5 foot and 1 inch tall and prone to being overweight, read Jurisprudence at Jesus College, Oxford, which has a strong Welsh tradition, graduating Bachelor of Arts, then Master of Arts in 1770, and Doctor of Civil Law in 1775.
