An article of the Apostles' Creed, a spiritual solidarity binding together the faithful on earth, the souls in purgatory, and the saints in heaven, in the same mystical body of which Christ is the head, and in constant supernatural interchange. The merits of Christ are communicated to each one, and those of each one to the others. The faithful on earth mutually exchange merits and satisfactions. The souls in purgatory profiting by our suffrages, and the saints in heaven honored by our veneration, intercede for us in turn.
