In 'Babbage's Economy of Manufactures,' we are told that 'some years since, a mode of preparing old clover an trefoil seeds, by a process called 'doctoring,' became se prevalent as to attract the attention of the House of Commons. By this process old and worthless seed was rendered in appearance equal to the best. One witness tried some doctored seed, and found that not above one grain in a hundred grew.'
Is it not to be feared that a doctored gospel is becoming very common among us, and if so it is no wonder that conversions are but few. Only pure truth is living seed.
