Babylonian bowls are to be seen in the British Museum, with Chaldean inscriptions, probably designed as charms against evil and sickness (compare Joseph's "divining cup," Genesis 44:5). The writing is of a Hebrew type, and may have belonged to the descendants of the Jewish captives in Babylon.
