RAAMAH is called ( Genesis 10:7 = 1 Chronicles 1:9 [ Raama ]) a son of Cush, and father of Sheba and Dedan ( Genesis 10:28 ). The locality of this Arabian tribe is not yet ascertained. Opinion is divided between the Regma of Ptolemy, on the W. of the Persian Gulf, and the Rammanitœ of Strabo in S. Arabia, N.W. of Hadramaut (see Hazarmaveth) and E. of the ancient Sheba. The latter is the more probable identification. Raamah is also associated with Sheba in Ezekiel 27:22 as trading with Tyre.
