Caccianiga, Francesco an Italian painter, was born at Milan in 1700, and studied under Franceschini at Bologna. He afterwards went to Rome, where he obtained the favor of the prince Borghese, for whom he executed a number of works. . His best productions are at Ancona, where he painted several altar-pieces, the best of which are the Marriage of the Virgin, and the Last Supper. He died at Rome in 1781. See Spooner Biog. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
