Conder proposes (Tent Work in Palest. 2:336) to identify it with the present Deir Arban, two miles east of Ain-Shems, "a large village on the lower slope of a high ridge, with a well to the north, and olives on the east, west, and north" (Memoirs of Ordinance Survey, 3:24).

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock.
