Habington, William an English poet, was born Cat Hindlip, Worcestershire, November 5, 1605. He was educated at St. Omer's Jesuit College, and afterwards at Paris; spent his life in literary and rural leisure, and died on his native estate, November 13, 1645. Besides some historical works, he published occasional poems of a serious vein, which were collected in a volume entitled Castara (1635, 1640). See Chalmers, Biog. Dict. s.v.

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
