Proverbs 15:1. A soft answer, &c. A mild, submissive, and yielding answer to him who severely chides, or reproves, turns away wrath And prevents the further progress of it. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright. This means either, brings it forth opportunely, it the right time and place, or illustrates it, makes it beautiful and pleasant, as Proverbs 15:13 .
