My blood. No covenant could be made without shedding of blood (Exodus 24:8 . Hebrews 9:20 ); and no remission of sins without it (Leviticus 17:11 ). the new testament = the New Covenant. This can be nothing else than that foretold in Jeremiah 31:31 . If not made then, it can never now be made, for the Lord has no blood to shed (Luke 24:39 ).
