15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Ver. 15. I will pray with understanding ] To an effectual prayer there must concur intentio et affectus, the intention of the mind and the affection of the heart; else it is not praying, but parroting.
