Many current models for the Church gathering and buildings in Western countries are a result of over 100 years of persecution-free Christian freedom. This illusionary time has caused a lukewarmness in the Church. We should not deceive ourselves, there will be a coming persecution of Christians of all nations in the end our Lord says. If you are hearing God’s call to gather with a small gathering of true believers who are willing to obey the Holy Spirit, pray about taking that step.
