The preacher offers this correction to his message – In the sermon I made the point that the Greek grammar transitions from plural to singular in verse 10, and then used this to affirm God’s attention for the individual in the midst of the church. However, upon review I realised I had made a foolish translation error. In my studies, I read the singular from the verb about God, and then mentally applied it to the word “you” about the church (a word which was only inserted in the English for readability in any case). It doesn’t change the truthfulness of the statement made in the sermon (God really does care for the individual in the church). But it is not specifically (as in ‘singular’) what the text says in verse 10, where the grammatical emphasis regarding the church is still in the plural. Please forgive this mistake on my part.
