After completing the Sermon On The Mount, Jesus speaks with the disciples about the importance of applying the Word that they just heard; being doers and not hearers only. He warns that the greatest danger is self-deception. The Scribes and the Pharisees had fooled themselves into believing that they were righteous and others were sinful. It’s possible for people to know religious language, believe religious doctrines, do religious things, and still not be saved. Matthew 7:13-29 gives us a few illustrations to help us examine ourselves and others.
