We need Timothy's in every church. Given the animosity of our culture and in our national leadership to true Christians, believing men must be prepared to lead a church in their homes. The study in Timothy is proposed to strengthen the men, encourage the women, and give a purpose for our youth. Timothy was written to emphasize the importance of good conduct and a good creed in the local church. We see the Lord Jesus Christ put on an equal plane with God our Father, showing He is God. The end game of Paul's exhortations to Timothy is love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and genuine faith, in Timothy's example and in his preaching. Urges him to stand against those who teach other doctrines than Paul taught, as inspired by God. Myths and genealogies serve no purpose to edifying, but can be used to create unnecessary division. False teachers care not for love, good conscience or faith, but building name for themselves, using division to get it. We will consider the purpose of the law, that no one is saved by keeping the 10 commandments of the law. The law was given to show the sinfulness of man that can never measure up to the holiness of God. Anything that is contrary to sound doctrine is contrary to God, his Word and His gospel.
