Welcome to Calvary's Online Campus!
When Jesus makes His disciples get into the boat… a violent storm immediately comes. They’re obeying Him perfectly, yet everything is against them. In one of the most dramatic scenes in the Gospels, Jesus comes walking on the very waves that are tormenting His followers, reveals His divine identity with the words “It is I” (literally “I AM”), steps into their boat, and the wind instantly stops. This is far more than an amazing miracle — it is a revelation of who Jesus truly is: the sovereign Lord who treads upon the waves (Job 9:8), the Great I AM who rules over every storm in your life.
In this full sermon on Mark 6:45-56, Pastor Robert walks verse-by-verse through:
1. Sent into the storm yet seen from the mountain – Why obedience and storms often go together.
2. The Lord who treads the waves and speaks His name – The staggering Old Testament background to Jesus walking on water and saying ἐγώ εἰμί (“I AM”).
3. From storm to streets – How the same Jesus who calms the sea immediately begins healing everyone who touches even the hem of His garment.
You’ll be encouraged to:
• Keep rowing in obedience even when the wind is against you.
• Recognize Jesus’ voice saying “Be of good cheer — it is I; do not be afraid.”
• Reach out in simple faith and touch the hem of His garment today.
Whether you’re in the middle of a storm right now, struggling to keep rowing, or just want a fresh vision of the supremacy and tenderness of Christ — this message is for you.
We pray that you are blessed by the message!
