</indent> I was bereaved and barren; <indent>I was exiled and rejected. </indent> <indent>Who brought these up?</indent> I was left all alone, <indent>but these—where have they come from?’”</indent></poetry> 22 This is what the Sovereign Lord says:<poetry>“See, I will beckon to the nations, <indent>I will lift up my banner to the peoples;</indent> they will bring your sons in their arms <indent>and carry your daughters on their hips. </indent> 23 <poetry>Kings will be your foster fathers, <indent>and their queens your nursing mothers. </indent> They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; <indent>they will lick the dust at your feet.</indent> Then you will know that I am the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap>; <indent>those who hope in me will not be disappointed. ”</indent><poetry></poetry> 24 <poetry>Can plunder be taken from warriors, <indent>or captives be rescued from the fierce ?</indent></poetry> 25 But this is what the Lord says:<poetry>“Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, <indent>and plunder retrieved from the fierce; </indent> I will contend with those who contend with you, <indent>and your children I will save. </indent> 26 <poetry>I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; <indent>they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine.</indent> Then all mankind will know <indent>that I, the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap>, am your Savior, </indent> <indent>your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob. ”</indent></poetry>
