A psalm.</h3>77 <poetry>I cried out to God for help; <indent>I cried out to God to hear me.</indent> </poetry> 2 <poetry>When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; <indent>at night I stretched out untiring hands, </indent> <indent>and I would not be comforted. </indent></poetry> 3 <poetry>I remembered you, God, and I groaned; <indent>I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. </indent> </poetry> 4 <poetry>You kept my eyes from closing; <indent>I was too troubled to speak. </indent> </poetry> 5 <poetry>I thought about the former days, <indent>the years of long ago;</indent> </poetry> 6 <poetry>I remembered my songs in the night. <indent>My heart meditated and my spirit asked:</indent></poetry> 7 <poetry>“Will the Lord reject forever? <indent>Will he never show his favor again?</indent> </poetry> 8 <poetry>Has his unfailing love vanished forever? <indent>Has his promise failed for all time?</indent> </poetry> 9 <poetry>Has God forgotten to be merciful? <indent>Has he in anger withheld his compassion? ”</indent></poetry> 10 <poetry>Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: <indent>the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. </indent> </poetry> 11 <poetry>I will remember the deeds of the <smallCap>Lord</smallCap>; <indent>yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.</indent> </poetry> 12 <poetry>I will consider all your works <indent>and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” </indent></poetry> 13 <poetry>Your ways, God, are holy. <indent>What god is as great as our God? </indent> </poetry> 14 <poetry>You are the God who performs miracles; <indent>you display your power among the peoples.</indent> </poetry> 15 <poetry>With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, <indent>the descendants of Jacob and Joseph.</indent></poetry> 16 <poetry>The waters saw you, God, <indent>the waters saw you and writhed; </indent> <indent>the very depths were convulsed.</indent> </poetry> 17 <poetry>The clouds poured down water, <indent>the heavens resounded with thunder; </indent> <indent>your arrows flashed back and forth.</indent> </poetry> 18 <poetry>Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, <indent>your lightning lit up the world;</indent> <indent>the earth trembled and quaked. </indent> </poetry> 19 <poetry>Your path led through the sea, <indent>your way through the mighty waters,</indent> <indent>though your footprints were not seen.</indent></poetry> 20 <poetry>You led your people like a flock <indent>by the hand of Moses and Aaron. </indent></poetry>
