When the love of his life abruptly leaves him, fledgling author Tom Porter becomes a lost man. In his ensuing struggle to move on with his life, Tom meets Andrew, a Manhattan art dealer with a passion for the written word who proposes that Tom ghostwrite his novel for him. Feeling as though it would help take his mind off his loss, Tom accepts the unusual offer. But what starts out as an innocent arrangement eventually becomes a tangle of lies and betrayal as Tom begins an affair with the wife of his employer.
