When you become a Christian, you might think that things are going to be clear skies and smooth sailing from that point on. Things might start out smooth for a while.

When things seem to be going well in our lives, we tend to take things for granted, but eventually we will all face challenges in our lives. It is those challenging times in our lives that are going to have the greatest impact on who we are. Those challenging times can either make or break us. How we respond says a lot about our relationship with the Lord.

I think we can look at the example of Joseph (son of Jacob) in Genesis as a good example of how to face adversity in our lives. His life was a series of highs and lows, but he never lost his focus or his desire to press on. More importantly, God was there for him every step of the way.

You can have that same assurance in your life as well. Even in the worst of times God is still with you every step of the way to love you, guide you, hold you, and comfort you.
