Greetings in the name of Christ our risen Saviour! In today’s worship service we begin a series of messages on the story of Ruth in the Old Testament. Today’s message is like the opening introduction to a four-act play, or if you will, the overture to a symphony. We are reminded of God’s care and concern for each one of us, in the small and mundane affairs of our lives.

This Thursday is Earth Day, an annual global reminder to show support for the protection of the environment. As Christians who know God as the loving Creator of our world in all its diversity and beauty, we are particularly called to be wise stewards of God’s creation. Three of this week’s hymns focus on praising God for the beauty of our world and its creatures.
