Why Judah Is In Trouble (Part I)
(Micah 2:1-13)
I. The Covetousness of the Powerful (v.1-5)
   A. The powerful and influential Judahites were defrauding and stealing other people’s lands.
    a. They purposed and planned their thefts and then carried them out [cf., Lev 19:13, 25:23-28] (v.1-2)
   B. In an act of justice, God planned judgment on the oppressive Judahites (v.3-5)
II. The Corruption of the Prophets (v.6-11)
   A. The false prophets in Judah were not calling the people to repent but rather told the people what they wanted to hear.
    a. They rejected the message of judgment (v.6)
    b. They participated with the oppressors in robbing the people (v.7-10)
    c. They only told the people what they wanted to hear [cf., 2 Tim 4:3-4] (v.11)
     1. Biblical Standards for Validating a True Prophet:
~ A prophet’s prediction must be completely accurate (Dt 18:20-22).
~ A Prophet must not contradict previous revelation or encourage sinful acts (Dt 13:1-5).
~ Prophets must be morally pure (Matt. 7:15–17; 2 Pet. 2:1–3; cf. Jer. 23:14–16)
III. The Commitment of God’s Promise (v.12-13)
   A. God promised that even in Israel’s impoverished state; they would one day be restored. (v.12)
    a. Some have suggested that this prophecy was fulfilled when Judah returned after 70 years of Babylonian captivity. (Not Likely)
    b. Others see this prophecy being fulfilled when Christ returns.
   B. The Lord Himself will lead a restored Israel (v.13)
    a. Why and How Micah 2:12-13 relate to Revelation and the End Times:
     1. Israel Will Flee to Bozrah during Trib. (Rev 12:13-14; Is 63:1-2)
     2. Bozrah is 200 Miles From the Valley of Megiddo (Rev 14:19-20)
     3. Israel seek refuge in Bozrah for 1,260 days (Rev 12:6)
     4. God will provide supernatural provision (Is. 33:16; Rev. 12:6)
     5. It will be in a mountainous area (Is. 33:16; Matt. 24:16)
     6. It will be highly defensible (Is. 33:16)
     7. Bozrah is located in what is now called Jordan (Edom and Moab) (Dan. 11:41)
    b. Chronological Summary of Christ’s Return:
     1. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ returns with His angels and the Church to deliver the believing Remnant of Israel at Bozrah, which is a part of the greater Armageddon conflict (Isaiah 34:1-7, 63:1-6, Habakkuk 3:3, Micah 2:12-13, Judges 5:4-5, Mt 16:27; Jude 14-15)
     2. Christ’s battle with the Antichrist and the world’s armies will conclude at the valley of decision where he will descend to the Mt. of Olives and enter into the judgment of nations (Ezek. 20:30-39; Mt. 25)
     3. Satan will be bound for 1000 years (20:1-3)
     4. Tribulation & O.T. saints will be resurrected (Dan. 12:1-3; Is. 26:19; Rev. 20:4)
     5. The Millennial Temple is constructed (Ezek. 40-48)
     6. The Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Begins with the Church reigning with Christ (20:4-6)
