Serving the Lord is one of the greatest joys this side of Heaven. What makes it even better is that God has given each of us unique gifts to make the experience more fulfilling. And for that, we give thanks today. 
 
 
  
 
 
God gives His gifts as He chooses. We don’t earn them. Some people have an ability to speak publicly. Some are better working behind the scenes. Some have business acumen. Some have athletic skills. Some have an ability to sing. Whatever your gift, God has given it for a very specific purpose. He wants you to use it for His glory and His work. 
 
 
  
 
 
The apostle Paul wrote, “We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly” (Romans 12:5–8 NLT). 
 
 
  
 
 
Just as each member of the human body plays an important role, so does each member of Christ’s body, the church. Your specific gifts are needed. You are needed. The work you do with your gifts facilitates the work other people do with their gifts. 
 
 
  
 
 
Figuring out what you do well, what your God-given gifts are, is part of the adventure of faith. One of the best ways to do that is through the process of elimination. To find out what you’re good at, you must first find out what you’re not good at. 
 
 
  
 
 
When I was seventeen, I volunteered for everything at church. I said, “I’ll do anything, whatever you want me to do.” I started with janitorial work and moved on to other areas. I quickly discovered that I was not gifted in a lot of them. But then I started finding areas where I was gifted. And I started to develop and cultivate those gifts. You develop a gift by using it, putting it into practice. 
 
 
  
 
 
And then God does something truly amazing. God takes what we offer and multiplies it. He uses our gifts to work in the lives of others—to bless them, challenge them, motivate them, and bring them to Christ. 
 
 
  
 
 
God has given us an important role in serving Him. He has equipped us with unique gifts and abilities that we can develop, hone, and use for the rest of our lives. He has made each of us an integral part of the body of Christ. And He multiplies our efforts in ways we can’t imagine to accomplish more than we ever dreamed possible. Let us give thanks.

Josh Strelecki, Pastor-Teacher was born in Milwaukee WI.  He spent most of his childhood in Crystal Falls in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.  He heard a clear gospel for the first time when he was in the 8th grade and trusted Christ as his all-sufficient Savior in his freshmen year of high school.  In college, he cultivated his desire for God, His Son, and the living word of God, as well as, met the love of his life.  Josh is married to his wife Michele and they have two children: Abigail and Josiah.

Josh has been full-time for 9 years and is leading Twin Cities Grace Fellowship in God's design of edification for members of the church the body of Christ.  Currently, in that process, they are establishing the foundation of Roman's doctrine.  Josh also has series available on Right Division, Suffering, The Local Assembly, and The Lord's Table.  He is also teaching through the Bible on Thursday nights, gaining the fundamental and essential issues of God's program with Israel.

We are a church that believes in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, therefore we exist to know Jesus and make him known in the valley and throughout the world. We desire to bring renewal, restoration and redemption as we tell those around us of the life-giving message found in Jesus. We act by serving those who are in need because we are called to be people of faith and action.
Our Mission

The name - Illuminate Community Church. The word "illuminate" means, "to shine the light." It's our mission to shine the light on Jesus by knowing Him and making Him known. There are many metaphors in the Bible that use light as a symbol of God's truth. Jesus said this about himself in John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Have you ever walked into a church and felt alone or invisible? It's kind of crazy that as the church gets bigger it can become less personable. You would think that with more people comes greater connectedness. In fact the opposite is true. Sometimes cliques are formed unknowingly. We get wrapped up in being around the people we know. You know who thinks church is friendly? The people who already have friends, that's who! So we must remember that we exist for those who are not yet with us. We want more of them to become more of us so there are more of us to reach more of them. This requires us to recognize the things that prevent us from reaching out to others. The church in Corinth used favored preachers as a source of division. They found pride in the pulpit. It was a way of drawing attention to themselves. Sometimes the attitude of a churchgoer is this: "Here I am; ready to be loved and served!" But what if everyone who came through Illuminate's doors had this attitude: "There you are, how can I love and serve you!" No walls would be big enough to hold the number of people drawn to this kind of church. So let's give it a try. This Sunday take the time to meet someone you don't know and welcome them to church.
