PROBLEMS THAT ACCOMPANY AND FOLLOW A SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
By Cliff Dietrick
Spurgeon, that great British preacher, once said, "Revival brings so many problems that one wonders if it pays to experience such an awakening. Yet, also without revivals the church would have died long ago."
Let me share with you some of the problems that accompany and follow a spiritual awakening.
1. Wrong theological doctrines – entering in during and following an awakening.
2. A lack of genuine experience of those who do some sharing during revival meetings.
3. Those who only let God revive them a little in their bondage. They received a spiritual lift, but it was only just a lift
4. A divided church over the principles of revival, and the results of revival.
5. Zeal without knowledge among the spiritual awakened.
6. Danger of turning back again to folly meaning that after the awakening they drift back to the same principles of living that they had prior to the awakening.
These are some of the most prominent problems.
