Some Good Seeds

“Too Late”, are words that we don’t like to hear when going to purchase that item that we needed or wanted and it is out of stock. Those two words are the saddest when it comes to salvation. Today is the day of salvation, now is the accepted time. There will come a time when there will be no remedy for man’s sinful condition. Today, while there is still opportunity, we must share the good news of the gospel with those who are lost.

SGS.9.7.2022 - “No Remedy” - 2 Chronicles 36:16

For sure, God is Sovereign in all the universe. He raises up kings and puts kings down. He rules over the kingdoms of this world. In the final analysis, His will and His way will be done on planet earth. The question that needs to be answered by each and everyone of us is, "Where is our citizenship?" Do we know to whom have we pledged our allegiance?￼

SGS.9.6.2022 - “Egypt’s Pride Is Broken “ - Ezekiel 29:3

Jesus said that if He was persecuted, His followers would also be persecuted. What can we expect in this nation? Will there be trying times ahead for the church? When we see all that is going on in this country, surely, difficult times are ahead. When leaders no longer function and ignore their God-given responsibilities for the people that they govern; when evil is called good and good is called evil, there remains only a fearful expectation of judgment. What are we to do as Christians?

SGS.9.4.2022 - “An Idolatrous People “ - Ezekiel 22:4

God keeps His promises!  He has told His prophets what He is going to do in the future and He will do it. He has been faithful in the past and He will be faithful in the future. We can count on God‘s promises.

SGS.9.1.2022 - “But God …” - Ezekiel 16:60

God, the God of the Bible, is all about relationships. He is a God who loves each and every one of us and is not willing that any should perish. He will pursue us and reach out to us in order to have that intimate relationship, to "seize us by the heart," as Ezekiel says. His love is so fast and incomprehensible yet, we can have an intimate and fulfilling relationship with the God of the universe.

SGS.8.31.2022 - “Seized By The Heart” - Ezekiel 14:3-6

God is not through with Israel. Neither is He through with you and me. There will be a future restoration of the nation of Israel and all of those promises that God has made to them will be fulfilled. In the meantime, what about you and me? We must heed the word of God and apply the principles that we find in His word to our own hearts and lives.￼

SGS.8.30.2022 - “A New Spirit & Heart” - Ezekiel 11:17-20

How are we to respond when someone we are witnessing rejects the word of God, or perhaps, they even persecute you for witnessing to them?  That can be awkward, or even hurtful because what we are doing, we are doing out of love for the people we are witnessing to.  Don't be discouraged, be faithful to share the word of God.

SGS.8.28.2022 - “Eat What You Are Given” - Ezekiel 2:6-8

It is against the backdrop of our sin that the love of God shines the brightest. We must recognize our need of a Savior because of our sin. When we were unable to help ourselves, God loved us and sent his Son the Lord Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for your sin and mine.

TFNS.8.19.2022 - “The Love of God” - Romans 5:7-8

God is unchanging in His nature and character. He is ever the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can rely on His mercy and know that if we will come to Him and humble ourselves, we can receive His mercy.

SGS.8.18.2022 - “Perhaps …” - Jeremiah 26:3, 36:7

In Jeremiah’s day, the people wanted Jeremiah to tell them good things. "Tell us good things," they said, "don’t prophesy about judgment." The Scriptures have much to say about the judgment to come, and for certain, judgment is coming upon the nations.  And, the Scriptures clearly tell us how to avoid that judgment.  Our responsibility as Christians is to warn men and women to flee from the wrath to come.

SGS.8.17.2022 - “The Certainty of Judgment “ - Jeremiah 25:29

Can an individual, or a nation, sin with impunity and not expect judgment? Sometimes it seems as though wickedness goes unchecked or is never held accountable for its actions. But be sure of this, God sees it all and His righteous judgment is waiting in the wings.

SGS.8.16.2022 - “The Consequences of Rebellion” - 2 Kings 23:3-4

Why should the thought of God coming to judge the world be a cause for rejoicing? Doesn't judgment imply terror, grief, and destruction? So why should we rejoice at that thought? Scripture gives us the answer to those questions.

SGS.8.14.2022 - “He Is Coming To Judge The World“ - Psalm 96:11-13

People often make excuses for things they have done or for things that have been spoken. Excuses don’t justify words spoken or deeds enacted. There will be no excuses sufficient on the day we stand before the Lord. For those who know the Lord, a glorious future and eternity await. For those who do not know the Lord, who have not received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, in that day, there will be no excuse.

SGS.8.13.2022 - “No Excuses “ - John 15:22-25

The Scripture says that as high as the heavens are above the earth so are the thoughts of God above the thoughts of men. Too often men think that because of all we have accomplished we are wise.  Well ... wise at least in our own eyes. However, the Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. So, are we wise? Jeremiah has something to say bout that

SGS.8.11.2022 - “Who Is Wise?” - Jeremiah 9:12-13

The thought of being judged by an impartial judge is frightening. To be judged by a holy God whom we have rejected and offended is terrifying. But God, who is rich in mercy, will forgive and pardon the worst among us if we will only come to Him, humble ourselves and admit our need.

SGS.8.10.2022 - “Here Comes The Judge” - John 12:48

The old saying goes, "Confession is good for the soul."  But, is it really necessary to confess our every sin?  Does God really require that?  What does it accomplish?  Is it just to embarrass us?  Or, is there something greater happening within our hearts?  Jeremiah gives us some insight into these important questions.

SGS.8.9.2022 - “The Necessity of Confession” - Jeremiah 3:12-13

King Josiah is one of the few godly kings in Judah, or in Israel, who served the Lord.  What was the secret?  He sought the Lord early.  In this case it means ‘when he was young.’  Is there a lesson from this for us today?

SGS.8.4.2022 - “Seek The Lord Early” - 2 Chronicles 34:3

On one occasion Jesus asked His disciples, "Who do men say that I am?" There were a variety of answers that people gave the disciples. Then Jesus asked them directly, "But who do you say that I am?" There is no more important question than this one for eternity hangs in the balance.

SGS.8.3.2022 - “Honoring The Son” - John 5:22-23

What happens if we refuse to hear, to listen to what God tells us? Manasseh, son of godly king Hezekiah, was the most wicked king Judah had ever known, and to top that off, he refused to listen when God spoke to him. The account of his life carries an important lesson for each and every one of us ... if we will listen.

SGS.8.2.2022 - “Refusing To Listen” - 2 Chronicles 33:10

The second of the 10 Commandments says that we are not to make any image of wood or stone and worship it.  As civilized people, we suppose this does not really apply to us because, as civilized people, we don’t make little gods and place them on our mantles and worship them ... or do we?
