"THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-031 (01-19-22) Today: Joshua 7:6-10

Joshua 7:6 (New English Translation) “Joshua tore his clothes; he and the leaders {elders} of Israel lay face down on the ground before the ark of the LORD until evening and threw dirt on their heads.” 
● Failure is unique to no one, and like all testings, they are common to all men, and therefore, the manner in which a leader handles failure, his/hers or others, will have a powerful impact on their growth and future leadership. I found this info: “A study of Bible characters reveals that most of those who made history were men who failed at some point, and some of them drastically, but who refused to continue lying in the dust. Their very failure and repentance secured for them a more ample conception of the grace of God. They learned to know Him as the God of the second chance to His children who had failed Him—and the third chance, too.” 
● Joshua 7:7 (NET) says, “Joshua prayed {Heb. said}, “O, Sovereign LORD! Why did you bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites so they could destroy us? If only we had been satisfied to live on the other side of the Jordan!” 
● In the 21st century, we do not normally tear our clothes, fall face down on the ground, and put dust on our heads, but we do have our own individual ways of showing our concern, pain and doubt when troubling situations arise. When a leader messes up in life, we may even fall on our knees or put our face in our hands and sob, but if there are feelings of self-pity and depression, we may even become inactive or gloomy about the mistakes that have taken place. 
● Joshua 7:8 (NET) says, “O Lord, what can I say now that Israel has retreated before its enemies?” 
● After a whole day on his face, Joshua verbalized his perplexity in three questions and two statements. The First Question was from V.7, “O, Sovereign LORD! Why did you bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites so they could destroy us?” The word “O” or “alas” in other translations, is a strong interjection of despair. In most places, it is used with “Lord God” though not always as an expression of despair. 
● The Second Question (V.8): “O Lord, what can I say now that Israel has retreated before its enemies?” Following the defeat of Jericho, chapter 6 ended with the statement, “So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame was in all the land.” The people wanted some answers and Joshua simply did not have any at this time. This is why Joshua and the elders prayed and sought the face of God. 
● Joshua 7:9 (NET) says, “When the Canaanites and all who live in the land hear about this, they will turn against us and destroy the very memory of us {Heb. cut off our name} from the earth. What will you do to protect your great reputation?” 
● The Third Question: “And what will You do for Your great name?” Even in all of the fear Joshua was feeling as a leader, we see his character and love for the Lord manifesting at that moment. It appears that Joshua’s greatest concern was that the news of this defeat might somehow reduce the respect of the heathen nations for God’s own name, and Joshua may have been guilty of thinking what people often think, that one failure must lead to other failures; and that victory is less likely now because they had so miserably failed. 
● Joshua 7:10 (NET) says, “The LORD responded {Heb. said} to Joshua, “Get up! Why are you lying there face down?” 
● There was an assumption here that since they had been defeated, they could not go forward and that it would have been better to not have encountered the enemy. From their perspective, their failures had somehow weakened God’s ability to give them future victories, which is often a typical assumption when leaders mess up. Father-God has never been limited by our defeats, and as our Father, He is able to work all things in us so that we can face our failures, admit them, and forgive ourselves and others that may be involved. 
● The type and shadow here is that even in the 21st-century leaders mess up, but depending on the magnitude of the mistake, but like Joshua, things can be corrected almost immediately, even if other incidents may require some time for healing; and if that is you, then know that Father loves you, and healing and restoration is always the heart of God. “THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-030 (12-22-22) Joshua 6:22-27

Joshua 6:22 (New English Translation) says, “Joshua told the two men who had spied on the land, “Enter the prostitute’s house and bring out the woman and all who belong to her as you promised her.” 
● From the NET Bible, there is a translator’s note (tn) that says, the Hebrew reads, “the house of the woman, the prostitute.” But we also find a translator’s note (tn) showing that the Hebrew renders the last part of this verse to read, “and bring out from there the woman and all who belong to her as you swore on oath to her.” 
● Joshua 6:23 (NET) says, “So the young spies went and brought out Rahab, her father, mother, brothers, and all who belonged to her. They brought out her whole family and took them to a place outside the Israelite camp.” 
● This is what I love about the Old Testament where we see types and shadows that point to the New Testament as a type or ratification of Father’s eternal covenant that was established in eternity past. When an Old Testament people or any people rely on the human-experience to interpret the intentions of Father-God, every time they will see God as mean, destructive, and unforgiving. 
● As for Rahab and her household, they were saved even as they joined their faith to the God of Israel and a willingness to follow through on what God’s messengers told them to do, which was to stay at the house with the scarlet cord hanging from the window. 
● As the Israelites burned the city and all that was in it with fire, except for the silver and gold and precious things, this is an allegory for the consuming fire of Father’s love burning out the wandering thought that do not belong within us. 
● Joshua 6:24 (NET) says, “But they burned the city and all that was in it, except for the silver, gold, and bronze and iron items they put in the treasury of the LORD’s house.” 
● Next, about the treasury, we find another translator’s note (tn) saying that the Hebrew would read, “the treasury of the house of the LORD.” Technically the LORD did not have a “house” yet as established in the earthly appearance realm, so it is possible that this refers to the tabernacle using terminology that comes later. 
● Joshua 6:25 (NET) says, “Yet Joshua spared {Heb. kept alive} Rahab the prostitute, her father’s family {Heb. the house of her father}, and all who belonged to her. She lives in Israel to this very day because she hid the messengers Joshua sent to spy on Jericho.” 
● Commentary says, “This shows that Joshua was written at the time of Joshua; yet this was not some whimsical re-construction of an imaginative writer working centuries after the fact.” Finally, Joshua curses the man who would re-fortify or rebuild the walls of Jericho. In other words, cursed be the man before the LORD who rises up and builds this city, Jericho. 
● Joshua 6:26 (NET) says, “At that time Joshua made this solemn declaration {or, oath}: “The man who attempts to rebuild {or, raise up} this city of Jericho will stand condemned before the LORD. He will lose his firstborn son when he lays its foundations and his youngest son when he erects its gates!” 
● I think there was a period of time after Adam, that God was adjusting to wayward mankind as they were learning through trial and error to be a better and God-like people. Joshua appears to be announcing the certain punishment of the violator. 
● Joshua 6:27 (NET) says, “The LORD was with Joshua and he became famous throughout the land.” 
● Even like in the New Testament, when we spread the message of the Eternal Christ, we find no need to make ourselves or our ministries famous. The need for fame comes from the unrenewed and from an egocentric mindset. If God makes you famous, so be it, but always leave that in the hands of Father. 
● Sometimes the instructions of God do not seem to make any sense to the unrenewed mind, and even as you are walking out what you believe Father’s plan to be, and yet we always find that Father-knows-best when we walk according to His plan and His instructions. “THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-023 (10-27-21) Joshua 5:6-9

Joshua 5:6 (New English Translation) “6 Indeed, for forty years the Israelites traveled through the wilderness until all the men old enough to fight when they left Egypt, the ones who had disobeyed the LORD, died off. For the LORD had sworn a solemn oath to them that he would not let them see the land he had sworn by oath to their ancestors to give them, a land rich in milk and honey.” 
● From the NET Bible footnotes, there is a translator’s note {tn} that says the Hebrew reads, “all the nation, the men of war who went out from Egypt, who did not listen to the voice of the LORD, came to an end.” From Deuteronomy chapter 1 we find that mankind’s version of who God was did not always properly portray the truth of Father’s true character and nature. 
● We must remember that the Pentateuch is the first five books of the Bible, and are also known as the Five Book of Moses. Also called “The Torah,” which is reported as one of the three main divisions of the Hebrew Bible and also the most sacred, for according to tradition it was written down by Moses at divine dictation. 
● In the New Testament, if we are reading the book of Matthew, then what we are reading is what Matthew wrote down about Jesus and others in the first-century. The same is true in the books of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Now, many times mankind’s human-experience along the journey of life becomes the “lens of interpretation” instead of the revelation of truth. It is my personal, theological opinion that “God is Love” is the only proper “lens of interpretation” to see the intentions of Father’s thoughts toward mankind. 
● Yes, in biblical times there was disobedience to the voice of God which often resulted in some type of destruction from famine, sickness, or even death. To say that God cause the famine, sickness, or even death is a bit harsh, because it was not God, but simply the disobedience that mankind chose. This clearly defines what consequences actually are. A “consequence” is defined as a result or effect of an action or condition. 
● We have the same thing today in our modern world, which is that God gets the blame for bad things, even though in reality they are the consequences of mankind’s choices. And sometimes “stuff just happens” when there is no one to blame, except for the condition of the world around us which occasionally has an effect on us. 
● Joshua 5:7 (NET) says, “He replaced them with their sons, whom Joshua circumcised. They were uncircumcised; their fathers had not circumcised them along the way.” 
● From a translator’s note {tn} in the footnotes of the NET Bible, it says that the Hebrew could read, “their sons he raised up in their place.” A leader not only watches over and mentors those around them, but they “raise them up” to be the next generation of men, or in this case, warriors. It is said that this is one of the great mysteries of our faith, that God shares His nature with us, as we are enlightened and awakened through our own personal dedication to God. 
● Joshua 5:8 (NET) says, “When all the men {tn Heb. nation} had been circumcised, they stayed there in the camp until they had healed.” 
● This is a clear type and shadow showing us that time spend in dedication and preparation with Father produces healing within our own souls. Just as “prayer is simply communication between two people in love,” so it is that focusing on and communicating with your Father produces growth and maturity. I think one of the best ways to remain in the mindset of an overcomer, is our continuous interaction with the Eternal Christ. 
● The children of Israel were continuously triumphant because they knew that God had continuously watched over them along the way. To daily walk as an overcoming through our oneness and union with Father, I think requires us to remain focused on Father as the Source of our lives. Israel not only needed to know they faced a defeated foe, but they also needed spiritual preparation. Thus, the Lord led them through a number of important experiences along the journey, to fortify their thinking and prepare them to enter into the challenges that lay ahead.

“THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-022 (10-20-21) Joshua 5:1-5

Joshua 5:1 (New English Translation) says, “1 When all the Amorite kings on the west side of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how the LORD had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites while they crossed, they lost their courage and could not even breathe for fear of the Israelites.” 
● Concerning this statement of “they lost their courage and could not even breath for the fear of the Israelites, the NET Bible footnotes has a translator’s note {tn} that says the Hebrew would read, “their heart[s] melted and there was no longer in them breath (or perhaps “spirit”) because of the sons of Israel.” Since the word spirit or breath are both used in various translations, this can literally means that the people of Jericho had the wind knocked out of them. 
● Joshua 5:2 (NET) says, “At that time the LORD told Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites once again.” 
● From a translator’s note {tn} the NET Bible footnotes show that the Hebrew would read, “return {comma}, circumcise the sons of Israel a second time.” Now, to return “again,” or to imply once “again,” this word “again” in the Hebrew comes from the word šûḇ {shŏŏv’} and is from a primitive root word, meaning, to turn back. In a sense, this word is to indicate the repetition of an action. 
● The first thing we see here is a mindset that is known as a disheartened condition of the inhabitants of the land. In other words, they were, in essence, already defeated in their minds. They were fearful of the nation of Israel because of the mighty works of God they had heard about. 
● Joshua 5:3 (NET) says, “So Joshua made flint knives and circumcised the Israelites at the Hill of the Foreskins.” 
● From a translator’s note {tn} in the NET Bible footnotes, it says that the Hebrew word giḇʿâ {ghĭb–văw’} ʿārlâ {ŏrdd–lăw’} means, “Hill of the Foreskins.” And from a study note {sn} in the Net Bible footnotes says, “The name given to the place, Hill of the Foreskins was an obvious reminder of this important event.” Circumcision, as a sign of the covenant, was the means of being identified with the covenant promises of God to Abraham and to his descendants, who were knowns as the nation of Israel. Now, when it comes to Christ and the circumcision of the heart, or mind, sometimes people go through a heart-circumcision of separating themselves from previous lifestyles, or previous modes of thinking. 
● Joshua 5:4 (NET) says, “This is why Joshua had to circumcise them: All the men old enough to fight when they left Egypt died on the journey through the wilderness after they left Egypt.” 
● From a translator’s note {tn} in the NET Bible footnotes, it says that the Hebrew could read, “All the people who went out from Egypt, the males, all the men of war, died in the wilderness in the way when they went out from Egypt.” From the literalness of this historical event, it would look like that if a man had been circumcised once, he would now be circumcised again. However, this “re-circumcision” or this “renewal” was for those who had not yet been circumcised since they came through the wilderness. Everyone goes through a wilderness experience in their thinking or their mind. 
● Joshua 5:5 (NET) says, “Now all the men {Heb. people} who left were circumcised, but all the sons born on the journey through the wilderness after they left Egypt were uncircumcised.” 
● Notice that the Hebrew seems to render these words as “all the people who left were circumcised,” instead of all the men. Also, from a translator’s note {tn} the Hebrew reveals that “all the sons born on the journey,” actually once again refers to all the people. Why this is significant is that from time to time, I find that it is important for all people to be on the same page about the things we face. 
● Joining together as One people, in union with the One perfect Father, who leads us all, works through us all, and lives in us all as the eternal creation of God, known as the children of the Creator. “THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-022 (10-20-21) Joshua 5:1-5

"THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-017 (09-15-21) Today: Joshua 3:14-17 
------------------------------------------------------------- 
Joshua 3:14-15 (NET) says, “14 So when the people left their tents to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. 15 When the ones carrying the ark reached the Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark touched the surface of the water{Heb. dipped into the edge}—(the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest time).” 
● The fact is that the type and shadow of this passage for me speaks of the flood stage of Holy Spirit guiding, protecting, and interacting with the children of Israel on this most difficult journey. In other words, no matter what journey you are on, no matter how difficult it can seem to be, if you will just pay attention to what God is working in your life, you will experience His peace, and His rest in the journey. 
● Joshua 3:16 (NET) says, “the water coming downstream toward them stopped flowing. It piled up far upstream at Adam (the city near Zarethan); there was no water at all flowing to the sea of the rift valley (the Salt Sea). The people crossed the river opposite Jericho.” 
● First, we see “the water coming downstream toward them stopped flowing.” Then finally scripture says, “The people crossed the river opposite Jericho.” The fact is that if you were on a journey such as like the children of Israel were, all the way from Egyptian captivity, up to now, where they were about to cross over the Jordan River and take the land promised to them, I can imagine you would have seen and experienced many things. But to stay focused on the word of the Lord the entire time, believing in your heart that what God had said, was exactly what would happen, would take amazing faith. 
● Joshua 3:17 (NET) says, “The priests carrying the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firmly on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan. All Israel crossed over on dry ground until the entire nation was on the other side.” 
● Joshua 3:17 (MSG) says, “And there they stood; those priests carrying the Chest of the Covenant stood firmly planted on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground. Finally the whole nation was across the Jordan, and not one wet foot.” 
● What is so beautiful here is that we see the type and showdown of Father’s provision being for all mankind, and not a select few. Because of the human-experience, mankind developed a perspective that in their translations of scripture that God somehow had a divine selection program where some were saved, and some were not. However, when we think that way, all of a sudden we fall back to a separation mindset. 
● 2 Peter 3:9 (TPT) says, “This means that, contrary to man’s perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return, as some measure lateness. But rather, his “delay” simply reveals his loving patience toward you, because he does not want any to perish but all to come to repentance.” 
● This shows us the desire of the Father’s heart. He never forgets any promise He has made to His creation from before the foundation of the universe, but simply does not want anyone to miss out on anything He has created for mankind. Therefore, there is no slack in His promises that cannot be realized once mankind comes to realize the need for repentance, meaning, a change of mind in one’s thinking. In other words, God does not look at His creation like it is a chore to take care of you; He simply has made provision for all things because of His love for His creation. 
● For me, to “perish” implies to suffer or to do without anything that is a provision for us. I think the entire concept here in Joshua 3:14-17 shows us that Father had a plan that came with supernatural provision. And it might had looked at times like God was a respecter of persons, to pick and choose who would benefit from Him provision, but at every turn in life, the choice is up to each individual person. 
● The process goes like this: God created you as He did all creation. With that creation, Father had a plan, with all His plans, Father created the provision to fulfill His plan. Father’s plan was for all of the children of Israel to cross over the Jordan, and they cooperated with God, and according to scripture, “the whole nation was across the Jordan, and not one wet foot.” ● Once you get a true picture of Father’s heart of love for His creation, never let that image go from your thoughts. From that point on, allow the truth of Father’s mind rule over and direct every thought in your mind, as it guides the path of your journey in life, from the realm of truth, or the realm of spirit, so that you walk by faith as a son or daughter of God, and not by the influence of what you see, hear, or touch.

"THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-017 (09-15-21) Today: Joshua 3:14-17

“THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” (07-28-21) Joshua 2:14-18

Joshua 2:19 (New English Translation ~ NET) says, “Anyone who leaves your house {when the attack takes place} will be responsible for his own death—we are innocent in that case!” But if anyone with you in the house is harmed, we will be responsible.” 
● And as stated, one the siege of Jericho is in progress by Joshua and the children of Israel, do not go out from the location where we agreed to your safety. Then a Hebrew translators note from the NET Bible says, “But anyone who is with you in the house, his blood is on our head if a hand should be on him.” So, if Rahab or one of her family members leave that place of safety, it is that persons fault and no fault or blame falls on the two-spies. 
● But also it seems that this contract included the terms of if someone is mistakenly harmed or killed in this battle who is in the house or place of safety, then their blood is on the head of the spies. Remember the seriousness of this word-of-mouth contract in that if Rahab or her family was harmed, then the spies also would offer their life in exchange. 
● Joshua 2:20 (NET) says, “If you should report what we’ve been up to, we are not bound by this oath you made us swear.” 
● From a Hebrew translator's note, it says “and if you report this matter of ours,” or tell anyone else, then the deal of off. Keep in mind that these spies had gathered a lot of information on how the best way to conquer the city of Jericho since Jericho was one of the strongest and most heavily fortified cities of Canaan. This was far more important than a good battle plan, yet there was another purpose at work by sending the two spies, which was to save Rahab. 
● We see that in this context, we see the extent that God will go to in bringing one woman and her father’s house to salvation, of which the Hebrew word for “salvation” is yᵊšûʿâ {yĕh–shŏŏ–ăwe} meaning something saved, deliverance, victory, prosperity, health, welfare, and in essence, this implies to rescue. Actually, the word save means to rescue, and the word rescue means to save. 
● Joshua 2:21 (NET) says, “She said, “I agree to these conditions.” She sent them on their way and then tied the red rope in the window.” 
● First of all, these words were spoken as “so be it,” or even “I agree to these conditions.” In 2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) it says, “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us,” of which the word “Amen” also means “so be it,” and is from a Hebrew origin, also meaning “so be it.” The Hebrew translators note as referenced in the NET Bible, says, “According to your words, so it [will be].” 
● Joshua 2:22 (NET) says, “They went to the hill country and stayed there for three days, long enough for those chasing them {or, the pursuers} to return. Their pursuers looked all along the way but did not find them.” 
● When this says, “for those chasing them,” a translator's note from the NET Bible says, this had been rendered as “their pursuers” in the translation to avoid redundancy with the preceding clause. Now, a translator's note also says, “The pursuers looked in all the way and did not find [them],” which in that case, would be another Old Testament view of God’s grace in action. 
● Joshua 2:23 (NET) says, “Then the two men returned—they came down from the hills, crossed the river, came to Joshua son of Nun, and reported to him all they had discovered.” 
● The two spies literally shared all that they had experienced there in both Jericho, and Rahab’s household. 
● Joshua 2:24 (NET) says, “They told Joshua, “Surely the LORD is handing over all the land to us! All who live in the land are cringing before us!” 
● This is an Old Testament picture of proof showing mankind that our Father has always been faithful, in spite of where we are on our human-form experience. That which seems to be standing against us or standing in our way may at first seem impossible to conquer, but since Father imparted to you His mind, His character, and His dominion over all things, never give up hope. 
● To sum up chapter 2, for me it would be able the establishing of relationships for the sake of the testimony of God’s goodness. When you are faced with an insurmountable challenge in life, just remember the testimonies of your past and of other saints of God who have seen first-hand the goodness of God in action. 
● Remember, your Father is faithful in all situations and is able to protect you, provide for you, and connect you with the right people, at the right time, and at the right place. Joshua 2:19 (New English Translation ~ NET) says, “Anyone who leaves your house {when the attack takes place} will be responsible for his own death—we are innocent in that case!” But if anyone with you in the house is harmed, we will be responsible.” 
● And as stated, one the siege of Jericho is in progress by Joshua and the children of Israel, do not go out from the location where we agreed to your safety. Then a Hebrew translators note from the NET Bible says, “But anyone who is with you in the house, his blood is on our head if a hand should be on him.” So, if Rahab or one of her family members leave that place of safety, it is that persons fault and no fault or blame falls on the two-spies. 
● But also it seems that this contract included the terms of if someone is mistakenly harmed or killed in this battle who is in the house or place of safety, then their blood is on the

● One of the most commonly known things about Jericho was that it was believed to be one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world and the city with the oldest known protective wall in the world. It seems that walls are a symbol of spiritual and material protection in the Bible, but can serve as both to keep things out or to keep things in. 
● Joshua 2:13 (NET) says, “that you will spare the lives of my father, mother, brothers, sisters, and all who belong to them, and will rescue us {or, our lives} from death.” When dealing with our own mental or soulish battles, keeping negative thoughts out of our mind is only one part of this type of struggle. The other part is getting negative or non-productive thoughts out of our minds. Rahab saves the lives of the two spies, then she believes for the saving of herself and her family. 
● Joshua 2:13 (NET) says, “that you will spare the lives of my father, mother, brothers, sisters, and all who belong to them, and will rescue us {or, our lives} from death.” 
● Rahab makes no mention of any husband, or any children, which would have been common for a harlot in that day. When Rahab knew that the inhabitants of the city were going to be destroyed when it was attacked, she provided for the safety of her family, similarly as Noah did in his day. 
● Hebrews 11:7 (NKJV) says, “By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.” 
● As a type and shadow of these events, the soul or mind has a defense mechanism that defends itself when attacked, or even when suspicion arises about a change that is going to take place. This is why the mind is referred to as the human, rational soul, and it is practical of its own estate and condition, and by nature, it is very solicitous or attentive of the thoughts it embraces and rejects. 
● And as it is with Noah, Paul, and or Rahab, we see the need within the human-form way of thinking for self-preservation within. But we also see the spirit-form way of thinking, a.k.a., the God-mind within that sees beyond one’s own self, and desires salvation for others. Rahab’s attitude did not seem to be “my four and no more” type of thinking. 
● She was not satisfied only to save herself, but she also wanted to save her family or her household. Keep in mind that Joshua had the job of clearing out the wandering tribes of Canaan, so the Israelites could have a home. And again, for me, the wandering tribes are an allegory for the wandering thoughts within the soul of mankind. This should be the way we train our minds to think as we also embrace the Christ-mind within. 
● So, as we deal with our own thinking concerning the “wandering thoughts” within the unrenewed soul or mind, we must begin to think outside the box of limitedness and see a greater victory than we have experienced so far. Instead of only thinking about yourself each day, expand your thoughts to “how can I help someone else today,” and do it because you believe that your Creator has created you to manifest as visible and be a blessing to your family, and the others who are around you.

“THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-009 (06-09-21) Joshua 2:4-7

Joshua 2:4-7 (NKJV) “4 Then the woman took the two men and hid them. So she said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they were from. 5 And it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them.” 6 (But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.) 7 Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. And as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.” 
● In this story, it seems that Rahab did not know a lot about Israel’s God, about His laws of righteousness, or even the way of salvation, but she did know that He was the supreme God. But what about Rahab’s lie? Was it justified or not and does scripture condone it? Most commentaries approve of her faith but disapprove of her lie. In essence, they approve of her hiding the spies but do not support the idea of her telling a lie. 
● Note what Expositors Bible Commentary says: “Rahab lied as much in what she did as in what she said. Deception is an important strategy in warfare. Espionage would be impossible without it. When Rahab hid the spies, she sided with Israel against her own people. It was an act of treason.” 
● On a personal note, I would never agree with blatantly lying about anything. However, Rahab did not know the law of God, and probably had no idea that telling lies was wrong in any form. 
She probably did not even realize harlotry was to practice immorality. These people were not taught in the ways of God, and therefore, many still practiced the ways of the mistaken identity born of the confusion within the Adam-mind. 
● Now, while Joshua and the children of Israel are still preparing to cross the Jordan river, and patiently waiting for the returning spies with their report, the first word is still burning in the mind of Joshua. No doubt Joshua remembered the words, “arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.” 
● For me, this story would be a type of doing what God instructs you to do, even if a challenge arises while you carry out what God had said. What do you do when you find yourself facing some of the greatest challenges in life while doing what God has instructed you to do? 
● Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV) says, “For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’” 
● When the two spies and even Rahab were in danger of being discovered by the city guards, I think they had to know that it was the Lord who held their hand the whole time. Just as stated in Isaiah 41, the words “Fear not, I will help you” should be a comfort to us all. The fact that God never leaves us nor forsakes us proves that we are in union, as One with our Creator. 
● You are One with God, and there is no separation. And I think they had to know deep within that God was with them at all times. In your union or relationship with Father, there must be the element of trust that goes beyond this natural realm of what you see, hear, or touch. We must come into an understanding that we are spirit and as such, we are created like our Father and should not fear this natural-realm of a sensory perception. As a natural being, you are in an appearance realm as spirit made visible. 
● Yet, as a supernatural being who is created like God, who is also spirit, we live by supernatural laws. For me, that means just like what 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” It is clear that Rahab did what she did by faith in a God she barely understood. But don’t you think that for the two spies to enter into an unknown city also had to walk by faith, and not be influenced by what they saw, heard, and touched or interacted with? 
● Every place the sole of your foot walks upon, or in all that you do, it is another opportunity to share the Christ-mind with someone. You live in your Father, and your Father lives in you as One, therefore, live each day in faith, or the belief that you have been given all, and you are all, just as your Father is within you, because AS He is, so are you in this world.

“THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-008 (06-02-21) Joshua 2:1-3

Joshua 2:1-3 (NKJV) “1 Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, “Go, view the land, especially Jericho.” So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there {Lit. laid down there}. 2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, “Behold, men have come here tonight from the children of Israel to search out the country. 3 So the king of Jericho sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered your house, for they have come to search out all the country.” 
● Rahab {Rāḥāḇ ~ rddǎw–khǎwv’} was known as a harlot, and yet according to scriptural interpretation, she was a type or a picture of hospitality, of mercy, of faith, of patience, and of repentance, or a type of changing one’s thinking. And see here that she interacted with the spies that Joshua had sent to explore the land of Jericho. Therefore, it is said that this harlot called, Rahab {rddǎw–khǎwv’}, became a picture of virtue, who was also listed among the five women in the genealogy of Jesus Christ in Matthew chapter one. 
● Now, I would never tell you that prostitution is healthy for a woman, nor an act that portrays any degree of moral responsibility. But no one can deny the fact that God used Rahab {rddǎw–khǎwv’} to help the Israelites defeat the pagan city of Jericho. History says that the city of Jericho was a center of worship of the moon god, Yarikh {yǎr–rēēk}, or also from the Canaanite word Yareaẖ {yǎr–rē–yǎh} for moon. The actual phrase of “moon god” is SIN, the name of the moon-god in Babylon and Assyria, also known as illumine, meaning to illuminate or to light up. 
● Now, this moon-god known by the name of SIN is a type and shadow of the mistaken identity mankind holds closely, as they are lost in their Babylonia mindset of confusion. Many people have come through a state of confusion just to ultimately become awakened by the light of revelation. 
● Joshua 2:3 (Tree of Life Version) says, “So the king of Jericho sent word to Rahab saying: “Bring out the men who came to you, who entered your house—for they have come to spy out all the land.” 
● The two spies who were sent by Joshua to check out check out the land went into the city of Jericho and came face to face with this prostitute by the name of {rddǎw–khǎwv’} Rahab. So, Rahab offers these two spies sanctuary and helps them from the threats of the king, but her condition is that they would spare her family. The spies agree and return to Joshua to give him the good news. 
● Now, some say that this story is mainly about how to go from the carnal mind to the spiritual mind. Or in other words, how to move from a lower light realm of understanding, to become illuminated with the revelation of the greater light which is the mind of God. So, how difficult was the task before Joshua and the people of Israel concerning entering the land of Canaan? What were some of the obstacles Joshua and the people faced? 
● As the leader, Joshua faced following in the steps of his mentor, Moses {Mōšê mō–sheh’} as well as leading a stubborn, and sometimes known as a stiff-necked group of people. All of them together faced fortified cities, giants in the land, and a flooded Jordan river. Everything Joshua and the people were called to do, from a human-form perspective, was far beyond the reach of their ability. 
● Oftentimes, when we cross something like a swollen and turbulent river of waters which we have called “facing a challenge in life,” the mindset you have is equally important to the task at hand. A Jordan river could be a type of an obstacle before you that seems impossible to deal with. However, the Jordan before them was there to be conquered and taken from the fierce, powerful, and seemingly ungodly people who occupied the land that was across the river. 
● This story shows us that it is not a matter of what we were or what we have been, but only of who the Fullness of the Godhead is as represented to mankind by the Eternal Christ. As viewed by society, you may be labeled as the worst of what mankind represents, but God sees you as His creation.

Joshua 1:16-18 (NKJV) says, “16 So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses. 18 Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.” 
● For the children of Israel, their journey did not begin in Egypt or in bondage, yet that was all they could remember at the time. Some complained about life in general, even though this appearance realm is temporary by way of the fact that nothing here stays the same. 
● What the children of Israel should have remembered was that they were not born of Adam, but they were born or birthed forth from out of the womb of God. So, after all of that, the people told Joshua at the Jordan river, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.” They further told Joshua in verse 17, “Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the LORD your God be with you, as He was with Moses.” 
● For me, if I am going to faithfully follow a leader, I would want to know that they are aware of their divine origin and connection with Father. And if the children of Israel had this attitude during their entire journey, they would have saved themselves many years of suffering and difficulty while in the wilderness. 
● The people of Israel are just like any other people, in any other generation, in that whether they have a good or bad attitude toward God, their response does not change things for a leader who is doing their best to serve others. But a people who love the Lord and have a great attituded in serving others, make a contribution to any generation so that a difference can be made in their surroundings. 
● It was that the people obeyed those who ruled over them, or in a better way of stating this, they faithfully obeyed those who led them. The people were willing to sacrifice their time and talents for the greater good of mankind. We all know that it makes a powerful statement when one person sacrifices his or her own time, money, and preferences in order to help someone else have a better life. 
● How did a couple of million people make it on a journey that was over 5,000 miles long with all of the complainers, and those who got tired and were ready to give up? It was because of all of those who maintained a right attitude and were an encouragement to the rest of the group. This type of selfless effort is what is called love. When you devote yourself to others because of love, then the heart of the Father is displayed from within you. 
● Now, I would not think God had anything to do with their decision to put someone to death because they were one of the complainers or doubters, but it does seem that discipline would at least be in order. Again, Joshua had the job of clearing out the wandering tribes of Canaan, so the Israelites could have a home. And the phrase wandering tribes is an allegory for the wandering thoughts within the soul of mankind. 
● When serving in a group or being a part of any group, whether 2-million, or 2-hundred, or even 20 people strong, it takes keeping your own thoughts in line with the truth of who Father created you as. As these people purposely walked from Egypt to Canaan, well over a 5-thousand mile journey, there must have been a wave of love flowing among them, even if they had to keep reminding themselves each day of the journey. 
● Joshua 1:16-18 is a picture of love in mass-quantity, due to the numbers of all of the Israelites there. Maybe you have an opportunity to join with a group that God is calling you to make some sacrifice of your time and talents. Are you holding back because you have been burnt by church groups before? What about the talents God has gifted you with that can be of benefit to others in that group? 
● Think about these 2.5 tribes who thought about not only the consequences of their decision to follow the leadership before them, but what about the consequences of NOT being there for that person or small group that needs what God has placed within you. Just remember that the church group you were once a part of was not God who did you wrong. 
● Remember that the leader who may not have served you well, was not God who actually when above and beyond by creating you and placing His life within you. There is always another way to look at things around you, and instead of complaining about the journey, join in with the group and be one who remains “strong and of good courage” and impart what the one standing or sitting next to you actually needs.

Joshua 1:12-15 (NKJV) “12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manas′seh Joshua said, 13 “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God is providing you a place of rest, and will give you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but all the men of valor among you shall pass over armed before your brethren and shall help them, 15 until the LORD gives rest to your brethren as well as to you, and they also take possession of the land which the LORD your God is giving them; then you shall return to the land of your possession, and shall possess it, the land which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.” 
● The first point of focus is 1) “13 The LORD your God is providing you a place of rest, and will give you this land," and 2) “15 until the LORD gives rest to your brethren as well as to you, and they also take possession of the land which the LORD your God is giving them; then you shall return to the land of your possession, and shall possess it.” 
● The rest they were to enter into was not something they obtained with their own two hands, but they entered into or possessed it by faith. Joshua 1:13 (KJV) “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, The LORD your God hath given you rest, and hath given you this land.” 
● In a type of metaphor, this reminds me of how we have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness, “through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” When 2 Peter 1:3-4 talks about how God has give to us “magnificent promises that are beyond price,” or value, the Greek could read, “Through a glorious manifestation of His goodness He has imparted to us His magnificent promises.” 
● Therefore, by claiming these tremendous promises as our very own, faith or the power of belief always releases the power of the words that Father has already spoken or declared from before time began. Also, to escape the corruption that is in this world that influences us by what we see, hear, and touch, we have been acquitted {apopheugō ~ ăw–păw–fŏŏ’–gō} so that “through the power of these tremendous promises we can experience partnership {koinōnia} with the divine nature,” of which living in or from Father’s divine nature provides the freedom from this sensory realm of flesh. 
● Then the second point 2) from Joshua 1:15 which says, “until the LORD gives rest to your brethren as well as to you, and they also take possession of the land which the LORD your God is giving them; then you shall return to the land of your possession, and shall possess it.” A better way to look at this verse for me would be something like “until they obtain that which the Lord had already given them by promise.” And they had possessed the land which the Lord had given them, even while they were temporarily camped they beside the Jordan river before the journey had begun. 
● The point is that Moses declared that God had given them the land while on the east side of the Jordan, toward the sunrising, meaning that they were camped on the east side, toward the going down of the sun. The sun would be at their backs during this journey and not in their faces which for me is a declaration of grace and favor. These various tribes of people were about to fight together, and stand together in this journey as they were on their way to possess that which God had promised. 
● For us today, it is great to have others join you in this journey to freedom. But when you as a leader, even when you think you are alone, still you are never alone because the Fullness of the Godhead never leaves you. Also, even those who attempt to disconnect from you, are still with you in the cloud of witnesses as spirit. 
● The fact is that Father’s plan always was for Israel to have a homeland, but not just for Israel, but for all mankind. You are the creation of the Fullness of the Godhead within you, and your home, your refuge, your dwelling place, has been and always will be within you, which is the realm of spirit, no matter what realm you seem to be interacting with at any moment in time. 
Father said to Joshua, “as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.” Even when you deal with your own personal Jordan, remember that where are presently are in your journey, has been a time of preparing you to cross over in victory.

“THE BOOK OF JOSHUA ~ a Type & Shadow” A-006 (05-19-21) Joshua 1:12-15

Joshua 1:12-15 (NKJV) “12 And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manas′seh Joshua said, 13 “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God is providing you a place of rest, and will give you this land.’ 14 Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but all the men of valor among you shall pass over armed before your brethren and shall help them, 15 until the LORD gives rest to your brethren as well as to you, and they also take possession of the land which the LORD your God is giving them; then you shall return to the land of your possession, and shall possess it, the land which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.” 
● The first point of focus is 1) “13 The LORD your God is providing you

“UNDERSTANDING THE BOOK OF JOSHUA” A-001 (04-07-21) Today: Joshua 1:1-2

Joshua 1:1-2 (NKJV) says, “1 After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.” 
● First of all, we must understand that everything in the Bible must be interpreted and taught through the Proper Interpretive Lens. For me, I have discovered that the proper lens of biblical interpretation is Father’s unconditional love for His creation. Therefore, the Bible must be taught by paying attention to the Nature of God when we are interpreting scripture, whether from the Old Testament or the New Testament. 
● When it comes to the Book of Joshua, there are many typologies seen here, such as the person of Christ, Kingdom Living, or even a type of the Finished Work. But even the Finished Work that Jesus was sent to do has little meaning if we do not understand why He came. These are some of the things I hope we discover and unveil to you as we walk through the Book of Joshua, verse-by-verse. 
● The name “Joshua” is the Hebrew word Yᵊhôšûaʿ {yĕh–hō–shŏŏ’–ǎh} meaning, Yahweh is salvation. And that makes Joshua a type of Jesus in the Old Testament. Joshua is NOT Jesus; but he is a type and shadow, or a picture of Christ in the Old Covenant. Also, Joshua is the son of Nun {Nûn, nŏŏn}, who was of the tribe of Ephraim, from a primitive root word means, to resprout, or figuratively, to be perpetual, or never ending. 
● Nun grew up in, and may have lived his entire life among the Israelites’ who were in Egyptian captivity. This was where the Egyptians “made their lives bitter with hard bondage—in mortar, in brick, and in all manner of service in the field” according to Exodus 1:14. 
● So, “Joshua the son on Nun” had apparently been born Hoshea according to Numbers 13:8, because as Moses is calling the names of those who would spy out the land, he names “from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea {Hôšēa’, hō–shāy’–ǎh} the son of Nun,” but was renamed “Joshua” by Moses. 
● From Numbers 13:16, “And Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun, Joshua.” The Hebrew word Hôšēa’ {hō–shāy’–ǎh} meaning, deliverer, and used as the word salvation. So, Joshua, a type of Jesus, and His Father, Nun, a type of salvation. Joshua spent many years under the command of Moses, as his personal aide, who trained Joshua and prepared him as the one who would be his successor. I guess Joshua was a type of spiritual disciple of Moses in the Old Testament. 
● What we will see is that Joshua had the job of clearing out the wandering tribes of Canaan, so the Israelites could have a home. For me, the wandering tribes are an allegory for the wandering thoughts within the soul of mankind. The word “wondering” is characterized by or expressive of a desire to know something; or basically, curious. The word “wandering” means traveling aimlessly from place to place, such as an itinerant minister, a.k.a., “a wandering preacher.” 
● In these lesson, we want to understand that there was a natural or earthly copy of the heavenly pattern. Therefore, some people teach the typology of this book as a type of heaven. However, the “unwritten theme” of the book of Joshua is Victorious Christian Living. The reason why this book of Joshua is literally a typology, is because of how the children of Israel entered into a land of plenty, just like you and I were brought-back in our memories by Christ AS US, into a New Covenant of the victory AS the Finished Work that was declared from the beginning. 
● The book of Joshua is an Old Testament principle of a New Testament truth. And anytime an Old Testament principle is not confirmed by a New Testament truth, it is not for us. The fact is that ALL of scripture must declare as the end-result of the beginning, if we are to find spiritual typologies when comparing the Old Testament to the New.

“TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S186 (01-27-21) Revelation 22:8-11

Revelation 22:8 (NKJV) says, “Now I, John, saw and heard these things {NKJV translators agree: am the one who heard and saw}. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.” 
● It is apparent that what John both heard and saw caused him to feel a sense of humility, so that he was prompted within as if he should fall down and worship this angel who showed things to him. However, once again, we know that this English word for angel comes from the Greek word angelos {ǎn–gĕh–lŏs} of which the Strong’s Concordance defined this word as to bring tidings, or a messenger. 
● Revelation 19:9-10 (NKJV) “9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” 10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” 
● The testimony of Jesus is the spirit or the essence of prophecy, which means that we speak from the Christ-mind within, and not from our outward, human-form experiences from life. Too often, the events of life around us influence our prophetic insight, and therefore, they influence the words of Prophecy the flow out of us, which means that we fail to deliver a pure-word, but yet a tainted word filled with the cares of this life. 
● Now, while this may look like these words would not come from Jesus, the fact is that Jesus treats the creation of God the same as Father-God treats Him. This is a picture of our union as One with the Eternal Christ. 
● Whether this heavenly messenger is one of the spirit-beings of the unseen-realm, or Jesus Himself, still He says, “I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book,” then He climaxes verse 9 with the words, “Worship God.” Then in Revelation 22:10, John receives some very specific instructions. 
● Revelation 22:10 (TPT) “And he said to me, “Don’t keep secret the prophetic words of this book, for the time is near.” 
● In other words, this word “seal” or “keep” come from the Greek word sphragizō {sfddräw–gedd’–zō} meaning to stamp for security or preservation. And this word comes from the Greek word sphragis {sfddräw–gēss} which means, a signet as in fencing in or protecting from misappropriation. 
● The many-membered-body of One, as in “As He is, so are we,” as the Eternal Christ fully functions as spirit in a human realm of appearance, we also function fully in our spirit-form, manifesting in this human-form awareness. Do not keep this revelation of the Eternal Christ in you a secret from all others, because the time of the unveiling of its revelation was prior to A.D.70, and is past due to be shared with the whole-world. 
● Revelation 22:11 (AMPC) “He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.” 
● So, although this verse seems very confusing in several translations, it really is quite simple. I think this is prophetically telling us that there will be those who will do their worst at being unrighteous, wicked, filthy, and impure around us in this earthly realm. 
● But while people do what they think is right within their own individual mistaken identity, means that the only way we will reach them with this prophetic revelation of Christ, is the remain as the example of God’s righteousness and holiness. Let the righteous maintain a straight course and the holy continue on in holiness. This is not meaning that we should be religious as in putting on the act of Christianity, but to walk as Christ walked in this earth, which was by the revelation of His Father’s mind within. 
● Revelation 22:11 (TPT) “Let the evildoers be at their worst and the morally filthy continue in their depravity—yet the righteous will still do what is right, and the holy will still be holy.” 
● In other words, “let the righteous still do what is right, and let the holy ones still be holy.” Sometimes taking on the responsibility as mature believers can seem to be a real struggle while maintaining our freedom at the same time. But just remember that setting a standard of conduct in life as sons and daughters of God who walk a righteous and holy path as the creation of God, is not a bad thing at all, but it is as if you are shining the God-light within so that someone else can find their way to the truth that makes all mankind free.

● Revelation 22:3-4 (TPT) says, “3 And every curse will be broken and no longer exist, for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there in the city. His loving servants will serve {or, worship} him; 4 they will see constantly his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.” 
● Within the minds of people still today, it is believed that there is a curse upon mankind due to his or her disobedience to God. However, “the curse scenario” was believed to have existed within the confines of the law. And since this book is filled with a symbolic revelation of truth, I think Jesus is saying to John that the creation of God is not under any curse, even though the givers of the law said they were. 
● Notice these words once we remove the italicized words. It would read: “And every curse will no longer exist, for the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there.” So, wherever you are, the fullness of God as in Father, Eternal Christ, and Holy Spirit are also there. You and all that God is are one and will always remain one. The Creator and the creation are one spirit together even though our minds have not always been in sync with God. 
● Revelation 22:3-4 (AMP) says, “There will no longer exist anything that is cursed [because sin and illness and death are gone]; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve and worship Him [with great awe and joy and loving devotion]; 4 they will [be privileged to] see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.” 
● Now we see the intention open up a bit more to us as we see what it is that no longer exists. As a rule, the Amplified Bible has been known as to Amplify what the King James Version says. Therefore, the greatest drudgery or grind within mankind has been sin, sickness, and death. And we know that the English word “sin” has been defined as the be mistaken or the miss the mark. 
● Now, to miss the mark actually refers to missing God’s mark, and I think this could mean to miss out on what Father God thinks about you and has always thought about you. Future defining of this word reveals that it also means to have a mistaken identity within you. 
● Now, let’s think about this: Who is the throne, and who lives in the throne? Well, the throne is the dwelling place of God, which is within you…right? And the AMP says, “There will no longer exist anything that is cursed [because sin and illness and death are gone]; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it.” 
● God never intended for us to have any mistaken identity, nor illness, nor to experience death. Yet, all of these elements are believed to exist within mankind, the system of the human-education of the mind. God never said, “Thou shalt be fill of sin, full of sickness and disease, and then to die.” For the most part, what the mind believes, the body experiences. 
● Why is there no mistaken identity, no sickness, and no death in the city of God? Because “the throne of God and of the Lamb will be {or, are} in it.” Then it says, “and His bond-servants will serve and worship Him [with great awe and joy and loving devotion];” 
● Imagine if you will, the bright radiance of God’s glory within you shining at maximum illumination. Imagine being fully manifested as spirit, yet fully among mankind in this natural realm of appearance. After the resurrection of Jesus from the grave, He manifested as both supernatural, and natural. Why? Because the supernatural and the natural worlds have always been a part of us. The problem has been that we have known how to function as a natural being. So, what if you could function like the resurrected Christ, as the many-membered body of One, how much more effective would you be in ministering to others? 
● Jesus did not go away, but simply disappeared from their natural eye-sight and went into clouds, and you are a member of the supernatural cloud of witnesses. You are supernatural or spirit, dwelling in an appearance realm that is extremely important to most, but it should be that we are spirit, ministry supernatural things to those who are only focused on the natural realm. I think John is hearing Jesus proclaim the end result of creation as it was intended from the beginning of time. 
● You are a supernatural being who manifested here so that you could live as Christ among mankind who have not learned to focus on the Christ-mind that was implanted within them when they were created by from out of the fullness of God, in the beginning.

Revelation 21:23-27 (TPT) says, “23 The city has no need for the sun or moon to shine, for the glory of God is its light, and its lamp is the Lamb {Ref: Isaiah 60-19-20}. 24 The people {also called, nations} will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their wealth {or, glory} into it. 25 Its gates will never be shut by day—standing always open—because there is no night there {also a metaphor for darkness of thought}. 26 People will bring the glory and wealth of the nations into it. 27 Evil {or, any unclean thing} will not enter, nor anyone who does what is abhorrent or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.” 
● We looked at the NKJV and TPT and 4-things that we should understand. 
● #1. The glory of the Lord is the light of the city. Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) says, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.” 
● You are the city that is set on a hill that cannot be hidden because of the light of God’s glory in you. In other words, it is the light of God that brings illumination within. 
● John 1:4 (TPT) says, “Life came into being because of him, for his life is light for all humanity.” 
● The fact is that “multiple” forms of life came into manifestation because of the Eternal Christ, especially in terms of “spiritual life,” “human life,” and life in every form. The life of God is the light or the life that illuminates all mankind as He is the “spark of human life” within. This is why our united oneness with the Eternal Christ causes us to share in the glory of the only begotten Son, manifesting AS us. 
● #2. The creation of God are all enlightened and walk in the fullness of the created form. Isaiah 60:19-20 (NKJV) says, “19 The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. 20 Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the LORD will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended.” 
● Mankind in our human-form often thinks of “everlasting” from the point of discovery and then forward in time. However, “everlasting” is referred to as that which lasts forever. Therefore, IF the Lord is an “everlasting light” to His creation, then whether light is bright or dem only has to do with how a person interprets God’s everlasting light. 
● #3. The revelation is that being honorable does not bring glory, but it is the glory in you that manifests honor. 
● Everyone seeks revelation when the revelation is within you just waiting to be discovered. The city of God is not half full of the nature and character of who God is, but His fullness resides within. 
● John 1:16 (TPT) says, “And now out of his fullness we are fulfilled! And from him we receive grace heaped upon more grace! Or in other words, “one gift after another.” It is like God as the gift of Christ within us, keep on giving. 
● John 1:16 (MIRROR) says, “He is the source of our completeness. Everyone may now realize their own completeness as evidenced in him. This is grace mirrored in grace!” [Du Toit, Francois. Mirror Study Bible (p. 278). Kindle Edition] 
● This is why Revelation 21:25-26 says that the gates of the city within you, will never be shut by day—standing always open—because there is no night there which is a metaphor for darkness of thought and it no longer exists. 
● #4. The book of the Lamb’s Life in you. 
● Many people have been taught to focus on getting their names written in the “Lamb’s book of life.” However, this concept has had the wrong motivation attached to it. For years people have been trying to “save the world” so that they would make it to heaven. 
● Revelation 21:27 (TPT) says, “Evil {or, any unclean thing} will not enter, nor anyone who does what is abhorrent or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Book of Life of the Lamb.” Remember, what we are seeing here in chapter 21 is the fulfillment of the prophetic words of Isaiah 46:10 declaring the end from the beginning. The fact is that you have always been the city or dwelling of God, and with God. Imagine what the full harvest of the Spirit would look like as the creation of God is restored to its state of origin, translated in the Aramaic as, “the awakening of the Spirit” within. 
● Remember, “Evil will not enter, nor anyone who does what is abhorrent or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Book of Life of the Lamb,” which speaks of the Book of the Lamb’s Life in you. “TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S182 (11-04-20) Revelation 21:18-22

Revelation 21:18-22 (NKJV) speaks about the construction of the wall of the city of God. However, we have already seen that the word “city” comes from the Greek word polis {paw’–less} which basically means a town with great walls, yet the biblical usage of the word is symbolic of the heavenly Jerusalem, of which city you are. 
● Now the city of God as described in Revelation 21:18 was made of pure gold, as clear as glass and from the (MSG) says, “The wall was jasper, the color of Glory, and the City was pure gold, translucent as glass.” 
● This is why you are a city that is set on a hill, which cannot be hidden no matter how much you might try to hide. The life of God within His creation causes the reflection of illumination to shine every time one individual gets a fresh revelation of who God is, which reveals who they are as God’s creation. 
● The point is that the word “Jasper” is from an unused root meaning of to polish. It is the Spirit of God that polishes or massages the memory of mankind to cause mankind to recall who they were created as. Even the wall is symbolic of that which sits on a firm foundation, which is the strength within us that comes from our union with the Eternal Christ within. 
● IF we do not know that our strength to overcome all things in this life is from our union with our Creator, then it is time to wake up. So, first, there is “Jasper” which speaks of polished stones as clear as glass, or the purity of the city of God. Second, “Sapphire” speaks of the preciousness of who we are as the creation of the Creator, who sharpens one another toward the perfect mind of God within the heavenly Jerusalem. Third, “Agate” or “Chalcedony” {chal·ced·o·ny} meaning to form our view from how we used to see things, to now seeing things differently through the Father's mind. 
● Forth, “Emerald” is from a Greek word that is of uncertain derivation, but seems to be a stone representing intuition, and associated with sight or the unveiling of the revelation of truth. The fifth stone is “Onyx” being mentioned seven times in the book of Exodus, for me, speaks of perfection within the city of God. The sixth is “Carnelian” {car·nel·ian} has no real reference to it, but seems to be called “carnelian” because of its flesh color and being the “sixth” stone, for me, the heavenly Jerusalem in you speaks of an end to the soul control within the human-form of mankind. 
● The seventh is “Chrysolite” which speaks of the value of you as the city of God. The eight is the stone “Beryl” which speaks of transparency having nothing to hide within. The ninth is “Topaz” which is the stone of peacefulness, a state of emotional stability as being connected as one with all spirit-beings. The tenth is “Chrysoprase” speaks of the unconscious state of our human-form connecting with the conscious state of our spirit-form, supplying what is needed from that which is renewed to the unrenewed part of the soul. 
● The eleventh is “Turquoise” and speaks of the river of God flowing from within you as the heavenly Jerusalem of God. The twelfth stone is “Amethyst” which speaks of humility and compassion toward those who have not yet embraced the revelation of truth. 
● The gates were made of pearl, even as each gate was made of one individual pearl which seems to reflect the state of creation through Father’s mind. He sees you as “pure as glass,” or as holy and perfect as He is. But also notice that this city, the heavenly Jerusalem only has one street, and it is made of pure gold, which is an obvious metaphor for the “highway” of the Father’s heart we travel on in life. 
● Revelation 21:22 (TPT) “I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb.” So, if we as the creation of the Creator are the temple of God, then why does this say, “for its temple is the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb.” 
● The entire city of the heavenly Jerusalem is one body, with many expressions in the spirit-realm and the earthly-realm. Jesus came or manifested AS US, but also to express the image of God to mankind. Everything Jesus did was NOT as your substitute, but as a supernatural reflection of you in your spirit-form, so that mankind would wake up to the fact that As Christ is, so are you in this world. 
● You are the reflection of God who created you as one, yet with three expressions, just as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one with three expressions. You are the city of God that shines so bright that all can see who you really are. And even on your worst day, something good from the wealth of Father’s mind will shine through and give hope to someone in need.

“TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S182 (11-04-20) Revelation 21:18-22

Revelation 21:18-22 (NKJV) speaks about the construction of the wall of the city of God. However, we have already seen that the word “city” comes from the Greek word polis {paw’–less} which basically means a town with great walls, yet the biblical usage of the word is symbolic of the heavenly Jerusalem, of which city you are. 
● Now the city of God as described in Revelation 21:18 was made of pure gold, as clear as glass and from the (MSG) says, “The wall was jasper, the color of Glory, and the City was pure gold, translucent as glass.” 
● This is why you are a city that is set on a hill, which cannot be hidden no matter how much you might try to hide. The life of God within His creation causes the reflection of illumination to shine every time one individual gets a fresh revelation of who God is, which reveals who they are as God’s creation. 
● The point is that the word “Jasper” is

“TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S181 (10-21-20) Revelation 21:12-14

Revelation 21:12-14 (NKJV) says, “12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. 14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” 
● We see the number twelve being used here a few times, either as the whole number of twelve or as three multiplied by four, equaling twelve. In most cases, the number twelve seems to actually represent authority and perfection in scripture. This number is also said to represent the church and faith in general. 
● However, it can be used as a symbol of divine rule, or as the symbol for the perfect government of God. The truth about perfect government cannot be seen in the human-experience because this refers to supernatural government. And supernatural government is about the eternal truth that was established about you from before time began. God’s governmental system includes you. 
● Notice that “{the holy city Jerusalem, the bride adorned in union with the Lamb} had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:” 
● Matthew 5:14 (TPT) “Your lives light up the world. Let others see your light from a distance, for how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop?” 
● The word for city used here comes from the Greek word polis {pǎw’–less} and is described as “the heavenly Jerusalem,” which is a scriptural description of you as the city of God. Mankind has attempted to ignorantly hide the “heavenly Jerusalem” within simply because they did not understand the co-habitation of the Lord in them. The fact is that you may not feel like “the city of God,” but like I have said for years, “knowing is greater than feeling.” 
● Remember that God declares the end from the beginning, and from the beginning, the government of God was released into the creation of God. When you see Christ in scripture, you see mankind as one with the Eternal Christ in us, the hope of glory. The word “child” used here speaks of Christ’s humanity, and the word “son” points to His eternal deity. However, when you see Christ, you see yourself as the creation of God. And this son would be born in a time of darkness of the knowledge of truth, yet He will bring the light of a new day to the hearts of men. 
● So, why would we come to the last part of the book of Revelation, only for some to believe that suddenly the government of God will lose its power and strength and be unable to redeem mankind from himself, and then the end comes with the destruction of all creation? Well, that is because the “end of all things” is a made-up, religious myth. When mankind awakens to his or her true self in their God-identity, it will be like a new beginning, and not an end. Remember I said earlier that twelve was also used as a symbol of divine rule, or as the symbol for the perfect government of God. The fact is that the perfect government of God cannot be realized from a human-form perspective because God’s government is supernatural. And this supernatural government will not come to an end, because it is the proclaimed end from the beginning. 
● Isaiah 9:7 (NKJV) says, “Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end,” So, Revelation 21:13-14 has much symbolism used here, the fact is that most cities, as in a building would only have one foundation under it. But this city, of which you are, has as its foundation the fullness of God. So, notice that on these foundations “were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” 
● Remember that the names of the twelve Apostles being written or inscribed on the foundations speaks of the Christ-mind within you. The Eternal Christ who was, and is, and is continuing to manifest within the awareness of mankind is the 5-fold ministry. Christ is the gift of God within mankind. And even though we are called and gifted individually, still it is the gift of Christ within, in union with you, leading you all, working through you all, and living in all of us. 
● Even though all of mankind has not awakened to the eternal truth of who they are, still yet mankind is so one with Father-God, that there is no separation at all. For me, this is why the city of God is so important, in that you are the dwelling of God. Father God lives in you, so that you can live life to the fullest measure. “TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S180 (09-23-20) Revelation 21:9-11

Revelation 21:9-11 (NKJV) says, “9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” 
● So, have you ever had the words of Father God seem to cut so deep that it felt as if you were being cut by a sword in your heart? Well, it was not your heart being cut as in the organ that pumps blood, but it was something being cut within the thinking of your own soul. There are times within the human-experience, that mankind has not been able to understand the things that are of spirit, due to the hindrance of unrenewed thoughts. 
● Therefore, the Eternal Christ, as us, faced the last seven plagues, plēgē {plǎy–gǎh’} within our own minds, so that the strike of His voice brings a calamity within that we often interpret as confusion. And that state of mind pulls us from the mistaken identity within and like a “twirling, flaming sword” producing a light to show us the way, brings us to the Tree of Life within, so that we may eat of the knowledge of God once again. 
● God speaks His words, and then we also speak in agreement with His mind, and the many-membered body of One, becomes a two-mouthed sword declaring the end from the beginning. The soul and spirit are the immaterial parts of the human-form of our existence. The joints and bone marrow are the physical-form of our existence. 
● John said that “He carried me away in the realm of the Spirit to the top of a great, high mountain, and there he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” The mountain is simply a metaphor of a high place, or a higher realm of thinking. It is necessary to break-out of the religious thinking and think outside the box so that you can understand the great mysteries of God, which are no longer a mystery. 
● And then he shows us the contents of His mind within, by “exposing it to your understanding, so that you awaken to the truth of that which has always been truth. The holy place, Jerusalem is symbolic here of God showing you the origin of the temple of God, which is you. 
● All that God is, including you and all creation, dwell as One eternal being, with a many-membered expression in any realm. And that is because you are the ouranos {ü–ddrä–nous} or heaven or abode of God, where you are infused with the glory of God, and its radiance is like that of a very rare jewel. This jewel mentioned in Revelation 21:11 is like a jasper, clear as crystal.” 
● So, this precious stone, like a jasper stone, is clear as crystal, which shows us value, and purity. It is not how you see the heart stone within you, but it is how the Christ-mind views the heart or mind of mankind from within. 
● Revelation 4:3 (NKJV) says, “And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.” 
● The head and the body are One, and the head sits upon the throne of your thoughts or thinking. Notice that the Christ-mind within was like “a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance,” and from that mindset, all of the various aspects of God known by mankind around the world. And God presents Himself in appearance like an emerald, which is the color green, and is not the color of money, but the color of life. Since this is the declaration of the end from the beginning, mankind can step into this open portal of the pure life of God, and live life, from out of His life in you. 
● The husband and the bride are allegorically masculine as the spirit-form, and feminine as the soulish-form human-form. What this passage unveiled is that the Eternal Christ within is revealing you as the city of God, or the dwelling of the Creator. It is like you as ALL creation, sharing the same space with ALL that is the Creator, the fullness of God, Christ in you, the hope of glory. 
● The word “seven” used here comes from the Greek word hepta {hep–täw’} which is a primary number associated with “perfection” or “completion,” and the seven last plagues {plēgē {plǎy–gǎh’} a strike to the consciousness of mankind came when Christ took the confusion in your awareness, AS YOU, so that mankind could walk in his true God-identity, and no longer be plagued by any form of mistaken identity producing thoughts of separation from our Creator.

“TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S175 (08-19-20) Revelation 21:2

Revelation 21:2 (NKJV) “Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” 
● Remember, last time that we began looking at the symbolic or spiritual meaning of the word “heaven” which shows us the idea of being covered by God. It seems today that some do not realize that Father-God created all humankind, yet He is not BIG enough to have your back covered. 
● The fact is that the Creator of all things knows exactly how to take care of His creation and has made provision since before the foundation of the universe. Keep in mind that as John writes in verse one that he saw a “new heaven” and a “new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had (past-tense) passed away.” 
● The idea of heaven is not a place to go to, but to live from the idea of what heaven represents, which is to abide within His mind, or His presence, inside and out; just as Adam and Eve had experienced each day in the Garden. And so that reason John saw a new heaven and a new earth is that the old had passed away. 
● So, from last time, we saw how that the phrase, “passed away,” refers to being non-existent. But as far as “a new heaven and a new earth,” the word “new” comes from the Greek word neos {neh’–ous} which figuratively is used as the word regenerated. 
● This is where many get side-tracked in their thinking in that the English word for “heaven” comes from the Greek word Ouranos {ü–ddrä–nous} which is through the idea of elevation; or within the context of comparing line up on line and percept upon precept, heaven refers to the abode of God. 
● Therefore, “heaven” and “earth” is not something physical by which was walk by sight, but it is a matter of something supernatural by which we walk by faith in. To walk by faith and not by sight is a matter of depending in what you cannot see with your natural eyes, but what you know with your supernatural mind. Now, remember that the heaven, earth, and sea are Hebrew metaphors for how they saw the temple, as in the most holy place, the inner court, and the outer court. The outer court or the sea realm was the place where a human being had little to no memory of a supernatural Creator. 
● Yet John said in Revelation 21:1, that the sea-realm was no more. This does not mean that there is no more water on planet earth, but that what the sea-realm symbolizes, no longer exists. So, what this does means is that the sea realm has a clear path or an open portal of awakening to the same mind that was in Christ Jesus. As we progress in this lesson, keep in mind that to “awaken” to something, means that it was there the entire time. 
● Revelation 21:2 (TPT) says, “I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, descending out of the heavenly realm from the presence of God, like a pleasing bride that had been prepared for her husband, adorned for her wedding.” 
● If something descends out of the heavenly realm, and heaven is defined as the abode of God which is “within us,” then the presence of God flows within His abode also. Even at times when mankind does not experience or even know the presence of God, still, yet, the presence of God is ever abiding. Therefore, projected from out of His abode, the presence of God is “LIKE” “a pleasing bride that had {past-tense} been prepared for her husband, adorned for her wedding.” 
● So again, this is what takes place in the soul of mankind, in that our minds are renewed or adorned to the truth of the same mind that was in Christ Jesus. 
● Revelation 21:2 (Expanded Bible) “And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem [C the believers’ eternal dwelling place; 3:12], coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared like a bride ·dressed [adorned] for her husband [19:7, 9].” 
● So, notice what it was that was prepared to come down or manifest from out of the abode of God. It was the holy city, the New Jerusalem. So, the Expanded Bible says that the “holy city, the new Jerusalem” is “the believer’s eternal dwelling place,” which means, that you have always been the dwelling of God. From the moment you were created, and even to this point in time and always, you were created in the fullness of God, of the fullness of God, and from the fullness of God.

“TAKE ANOTHER LOOK” W1S173 (08-05-20) Revelation 20:13-15

Revelation 20:13-15 (NKJV) “13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death {translators agree this should be translated as, death, the lake of fire}. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” 
● One of the reasons why people have a tendency to believe in a literal version of the religious disasters from the book of Revelation, is because of this self-imposed, separation mindset that mankind has believed in. Listen, we are not separated from God, not now, and not ever. 
● To feel some type of need to “get right with God,” is clear evidence that mankind still believes that they are separated from God, and need to get connected back to Him. However, the very implication of the words “reconciled” or “reconnected” means that mankind was connected to God, but now must be RE-connected. 
● So, according to Colossians 1:21, notice the place where mankind was separated in? It was in his mind, and from that place, mankind lived in the “shadows of evil thoughts and actions.” 
● Remember that the theology of mankind holds to three-distinct experiences or levels which are the sea, earth, and heaven. In reverse order, the “heaven” realm always speaks of the fullness of Father’s mind that mankind was created to operate from. The “earth” realm speaks of that middle ground where mankind walks in carnality, while attempting to gain a heavenly minded perspective. But the “sea” realm has always spoke of the realm where mankind operates from as completely controlled by the human-experience from a place of no spiritual mindedness at all. 
● In this series on the book of Revelation, the “sea” realm is that which mankind lives by the “soul control” of what is believed to be “human-nature” where carnally minded man often believes that there is no escape from, except in heaven or hell, followed by some eternal judgment. And this is what we have been seeing in the past few verses of what translators and publishers determined to be a great white throne judgment. 
● What I do believe in is the reign of the many-membered body of the One, Eternal Christ in a unified effort of walking according to our created status forever, from the beginning, until now, and always. I believe that just because the thinking of mankind got off track from Father’s original plan DID NOT change anything. 
● Revelation 20:13 (AMP) says, “And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and Hades (the realm of the dead) surrendered the dead who were in them; and they were judged and sentenced, everyone according to their deeds.” 
● As it happened in the resurrection of the Eternal Christ which was symbolic of mankind being raised up to our rightful mind, or thinking, even now the day will arrive when the finished work will fully manifest within all mankind, and that is when “the sea” will once and for all, fully “give up the dead” which is those who have not yet awakened to the truth of who they are in the Eternal Christ. 
● Those who are presently in a “lost state of mind,” and even those who feel as if they are in a literal hell in this life, the scripture said that even “death and Hades surrendered the dead who were in them. Now, as they were “judged and sentenced, everyone according to their deeds,” we are not judged according to our works, but according to the actions of the Eternal Christ. Mankind did not sacrifice anything for us to be brought back to our God-mind, but it was all Christ in us, the hope of glory. 
● So, if “death and Hades” surrender those who have fallen into the Adam-sleep, and if “Hades” is defined as the realm of death, then what does it mean? The Greek word for hell as used in the New Testament is the Greek word, hadēs {pronounced, hä’–dāyce} meaning, unseen, or the place (state) of departed souls. The biblical usage of the word “Hades” comes from the idea of the Greek god Pluto, or the god of the lower regions. 
● Now, on a personal note, I do not believe that it was ever Father’s will for us to cease to exist in any realm we are sent into. Therefore, since people are awakening to the unveiled revelation of truth every day, it is also time for us to stop believing in the death of the physical body.
