Don't Make Your Walk With Christ Slavish (Luke 5:33-6:11)

You ARE MADE FOR Christ-Centered Friendships. 
 
God made us in such a way that we couldn’t even enjoy paradise 
without friends ... human friends.... 
 
Friendship is woven into the fabric of Imago Dei. Friendships are the oxygen of the soul. 
 
Are you going to be a Thermostat or a Thermometer? 
 
If your friends have never told you something that ticked you off, 
they are not your friend. 
 
You have to make hard decisions 
to be loyal to friends. 
 
Jesus Christ lost his friendship with God so that we could have 
friendship with God. That’s the cross!

How to Cultivate Lasting Christ-Centered Friendships (Proverbs 13:20/17:17/18:24/27:6;17)

I believe every Christian is given the gift of the Comforter immediately 
at Conversion. 
 
Becoming a Christian is not adding a new book to your shelf. It’s 
actually adding a new heart. New affections. New desires. 
 
Jesus will not stand for you to profit/advance from his 
name. 
 
What is it in your life that if Jesus is truly king you can’t continue. 
 
Idolizing something ultimately keeps you from being able to 
enjoy it all. 
 
You sacrifice to the idol, and it demands more and more... 
 
Jesus is the only sacrifice demanded to appease the wrath of God.
