In Luke 11: 23 we find a popular scripture that is difficult for some folks. "He that is not with me is against me," is the traditional KJV, or in more modern translations we get something more along the lines of if you're not with me than you're against me. What does this mean? 
 
Well here in Luke 11: 23 the meaning behind this statement is actually very clear, although difficult for some to accept. There is no middle ground. We are either in God's grace through our faith in His son Jesus Christ, or we are not. There is no sitting on the fence. 
 
So what does Luke 11:23 mean for us? Well lets take a look and find out!

The parable of the workers in the vineyard shows us an illustration of what the kingdom of heaven is like. Found in Matthew 20: 1-16, the parable of the workers in the vineyard explained that even the last one will be first, and the first one will be last. What does this mean? Well Jesus uses the parable of the workers in the vineyard as a metaphor for those who choose the put their faith in Him. 
 
This idea of the last one first and the first one last in the parable of the workers in the vineyard exposes our human tendency to demand "fairness." When the workers who only worked in the vineyard for a few minutes received the same amount of pay as those who worked all day, and received their pay first, the other workers got angry. Wouldn't you? However, Jesus is explains in the parable of the vineyard workers that those of us who have been believers for a long time, have no right to demand special treatment over new believers or those new to the faith. God has already been tremendously generous towards us with His grace and mercy, and therefore we have no cause to be jealous when He does the same for others.

The Parable Of The Rich Fool Explained | Luke 12: 13-21 Explained

What is the worst sin in the bible and what sins are not forgiven? Have I committed the one unforgivable or unpardonable sin? In the Bible (Luke 12:10 and Matthew 12:30-32) we are told the one unforgivable sin is blasphemy again the Holy Spirit. It means totally rejecting Jesus and Rejecting God. 
 
So what does is the meaning behind the unforgivable sin? I try to explain that very thing here using Jesus' own words in Luke 12:10 and Matthew 12:30-32. If you're worried if you have committed the unforgivable sin chances are you haven't. To blasphemy the Holy Spirit, totally reject Jesus and God, and go past the point of forgiveness require a pretty strong commitment to live in opposition to the Lord. 
 
However, Jesus was pretty clean about being for Him or against him. “Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me." There is no middle ground. The one sure fire way to know in your heart that you have not and will not commit the unforgivable sin is to talk to the Lord yourself.

We all seek wisdom, but do we look to the right sources? Human wisdom vs Godly wisdom. Gods wisdom, wisdom found in the Bible, is the ultimate authority. THE primary source of Godly wisdom is His wisdom in the bible. Human wisdom, or worldly wisdom, is often confounded by Gods wisdom. When we compare human wisdom, the wisdom of man and of the world, to Godly wisdom we find points of contention. So who should you believe? God or the latest book from your favorite Christian or non-Christian author? 
 
Now I'm not saying that there isn't any value or anything to be gained from reading books and listening to the scholars, intellectuals, and popular thinkers and writers of past and present. HOWEVER, you need to remember that Gods wisdom is the wisdom that really matters. Wisdom that conflicts with the wisdom and truth in the bible is wisdom to be wary of. Often times books, speakers, and even the greatest thinkers make the mistake of telling us what we want to hear, or what's logical in terms of human wisdom or worldly wisdom.

Human Wisdom vs Godly Wisdom | Gods Wisdom In The Bible | 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Is there something, anything that God can't do? What can't God do? We've all been taught that nothing is impossible for God, and that there's nothing God can't do. There's got to be something God can't do. Right? Well, in Hebrews 6: 18-19 Paul tells us God cannot lie. God cannot tell a lie, and that has some pretty important implications for us! 
 
If God can't lie then we can put complete trust in him. We can trust that His word, the bible, is true, and that all his promises to us He will keep.

The parable of the creditor and the two debtors, sometimes just called the parable of the two debtors, comes from the gospel of Luke 7: 36-50. In this video series I explain the parables of Jesus and shed light on the wisdom to be learned for us today. 
 
In this story, Jesus visits a pharisee named Simon who proves himself to be an ungracious host by the way he teats Jesus. A well known woman enters the home and begins to wash Jesus' feet and anoints Him with expensive perfume. This woman is a well know sinner and the pharisee doesn't understand why Jesus allows her to do this. 
 
Jesus reads Simons thoughts and explains to him through this parable why Jesus has sympathy for this woman and why He forgives her of all her sins. When Jesus explained His example of the creditor who lends money to two debtors, we learn that those of us who have more to be forgiven for are likely to love He who has forgiven more. 
 
Simon believed, since he was a religious leader and scholar, that he had little to be forgiven for if at anything at all. Thus he doesn't treat Jesus with the respect He deserved given who Jesus is and what His coming meant for Simon and the world. 
 
The lesson for us today from the parable of the creditor and the two debtors, as well as the actions of Simon and the woman, is that we need to be self aware of our own sin, how we treat others we may view as guilty of more sin than ourselves, and how we respond to the forgiveness we have received through Christ.

How To Love God With All Your Heart Mind and Soul | How To Love God More | Matthew 22: 37-39 | Mark 12:29-31 
 
In Matthew 22: 37-38 Jesus reminds us that the greatest commandment of all is to love god with all your heart, mind, and soul. So how do we truly love god more? How do we love God more than anything? How do we follow the first and most important commandment? Well, one of the ways we stumble in trying to accomplish this is to "do good things" with the expectation of something from God in return. But God doesn't owe us anything. How well does this approach work with your spouse? Your friends? Your family? 
 
Usually not very well as you probably know from experience. The way to show love is to show it without attaching a string - without expecting anything in return. This is how Jesus showed us his love on earth and shows us everyday. This is how we should approach and build our relationship with God and also each other. 
 
Matthew 22: 34-40: 
 
34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees with his reply, they met together to question him again. 35 One of them, an expert in religious law, tried to trap him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” 
 
37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
