Definition of Joy – 
Joy is a settled feeling of delight deep in your soul - regardless of circumstance - sustained by God - knowing that His purposes are being fulfilled.   
 
The title of the message today is: Experiencing Joy Through Faithfulness 
 
Scripture Context: Luke 2:22-38 
 
1. A poor couple – Faithfully committed to God’s word. (Vs. 22-24) 
2. A righteous man – Faithfully waiting for God’s promise. (Vs. 25-32) 
3. A newborn baby – Faithfully coming for God’s purpose. (Vs. 33-35) 
 
Hebrews 12:1-2 
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 
 
 4. A devout woman – A faithful voice for God’s redemption. (Vs. 36-39)
