1Jn 5:10  He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.  
1Jn 5:11  And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  
1Jn 5:12  He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Colossians is so dense, I'm going to have to slow down.  Hebrews led me to expect I could do high level overviews of a chapter or half a chapter at a time, but Colossians has so much in each verse that it's too much to try to do that.  IF this one is confusing, apologies.  Next ones will hopefully be better.

Covering the law which was added for transgression, to shut up God's people in a system / loop that would keep them coming back to Him and waiting for Him, until the Seed (Christ) to whom the promise was made would come, and the faith would be revealed. 
Baptized into Christ, we have Put Him On, and are clothed with Him, so that we are now sons of God and heirs of Abraham

Gal 2:20  I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.  
Gal 2:21  I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
