Read Galatians 4:3-7

1. What are the elementary principles of the world that enslave people (Gal. 4:3; Col. 2:8, 20-23; Eph. 2:8-9)? What was going on in the world that made God’s timing of Christ’s birth to be at just the right time (Gal. 4:4)? What promises were fulfilled when Jesus was born of a woman (Gal. 4:4; Gen. 3:15; 22:18; 14" class="scriptRef">Isa. 7:14; 9:6)? Why did God send His Son as Messiah in this way (John 1:1, 14; 2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 3:23-26)? Why was Jesus born under the law (Gal. 4:4-5; Matt. 5:17; Rom 10:4)? What does it mean to be redeemed from under the law (Gal. 4:5)? What does this tell you about the purpose of Christ’s birth (1 John 4:10; Rom. 5:8; John 3:16)? What does this love by God for you mean to you?

2. When one comes to believe in and follow Jesus Christ as Savior, how does their status and relationship toward God change (Gal. 4:5-7; Rom. 8:15-17)? What is the benefit of being adopted into God’s family (Gal. 4:5-7)? What has God given us, for us to know that we are His children (Gal. 4:6)? If one is not a child of God through faith in Christ, then one is a child of whom (John 1:11-13; 8:43-47)? What does it mean to call God “Abba” (Gal. 4:6; Rom 8:15-17)? How are you enjoying the blessings of being an adopted child of God, knowing Jesus came for you?
