NOTE: At 9:25 in this video, I stated that "The same" (John 1:2) is an impersonal pronoun that refers to a thing, not a person.
This is the truth, in the case of John 1:2.
However, it is also true that the words, "The same" are used in John 1:7 to refer to John, the baptist.
This does not mean that "the same" is always a personal pronoun.
What it does mean, is that it can be used as either a personal or impersonal pronoun, depending upon the context and the subject; and that in John 1:2, it is obviously an impersonal pronoun; and new age Bibles that replace it with the personal pronoun, "He", are incorrectly translated.
To say, "He was in the beginning with God." is a lie, because there was no one in the beginning with God.
Therefore, the words, "The same" in John 1:2 are an impersonal pronoun, referring to the Word of God, and were translated that way in English on purpose.
Amen.
