Last week in the first chapter of 1 Thessalonians Paul introduced us to the Thessalonian church, which had a Spirit-led work of faith that led to an influential labor of love.

This week Paul describes for us how he shared the gospel with the Thessalonians, boldly with compassion and grace. Anytime God’s work is involved, we can expect that there will be a certain amount of opposition. Paul tells us that gentleness and compassion open doors for sharing our faith, and demonstrating Christlike character allows us to influence others.
