Sermon Outline:
1. Rejoice in the Liberating news of Jesus (4:16-19)
2. Renounce your Parochial view of Jesus (4:20-30)
3. Respond to the Authoritative word of Jesus (4:31-44)
Reflection Questions:
• Like the Jews in Nazareth, do we sometimes have too narrow a view of the gospel, applying it only to ourselves and our family, to the neglect of others? How can the true gospel transform our view?
• Jesus did not simply proclaim the good news of the kingdom with words, but with His works as well. In the same way, how can we back up our good news with good works today?
• Jesus has come to liberate us – He is good news for all of us who are in a bad state. With gratitude, ask for faith to believe it, or to keep believing it.
