The Promise! Genesis 3:14-15; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25

Introduction
Christmas is such a heartwarming time of year – not because we always have wonderful things happening in our lives. But because of the glorious truth that we celebrate – that of GOD becoming a Man – “IMMANU-EL – God with Us”!

* The Preamble – the FALL – Genesis 1 and 2
- Spirit Beings’ rebellion – led by Lucifer
- Human beings eat the forbidden fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil

* The Promise – The SEED of the Woman – Genesis 3:15
- God made a Promise (in the curse on the serpent!)
- ENMITY (hostility) between the ‘seed of Satan’ and the ‘seed of the woman’ – what is the ‘seed of Satan’ and what is the ‘seed’ of the woman?
- Satan would bruise “HIS” heel – “HE” would bruise Satan’s head!

* The Promise – The Virgin conception – Isaiah 7:14
- What kind of prophecy is this? Virgins can’t conceive and bear children!!
- “IMMANU-EL” is GOD (singular) WITH US! WOW!!!

* The Promise – The Son is Born – Matthew 1:18-25
- Matthew gives all the necessary details of WHY YHWH GAVE HIS PROMISE AND HOW HE KEPT HIS PROMISE!

Timeless Truth
God keeps His promises – PRECISELY, COMPLETELY, and ABSOLUTELY! The SEED OF THE WOMAN is “IMMANU-EL” – “GOD WITH US” and his name is “JESUS”!

Living Lesson
Do not let this Christmas season pass without telling and retelling the beautiful Christmas story over-and-over again. Read, study and discuss the many Scripture passages that provide the wonderful details of the story of the INCARNATION of the 2nd Person of the Eternal Godhead – “IMMANU-EL – GOD WITH US”!
